Experiences of Japanese women simultaneously caring for children and older people: An ethnographic study.

Background: Japan has experienced a rapid decline in birth rate and an aging population, coupled with women choosing to delay having children. Family carers are therefore increasingly expected to accept simultaneous responsibilities for both children and parents. This responsibility often falls on women in Japan, but little is known about their views.
