Virginia Memory Project: Using the Healthy Brain Initiative Roadmap to design a statewide dementia registry.

Introduction: The Virginia Memory Project (VMP) is a statewide epidemiological registry for Alzheimer's disease and related disorders (ADRD) and other neurodegenerative conditions. It aims to support dementia research, policy, and care by leveraging the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Healthy Brain Initiative (HBI) Roadmap.

Methods: To capture comprehensive data, the VMP integrates self-enrollment and automatic enrollment using Virginia's All-Payer Claims Database (APCD).

Chemistry of Metal Silicates and Germanates: The Largest Metal Polygermanate, KMnGeO(OH)(HO), with a 76 Å Periodic Lattice.

An examination of manganese silicates and germanates revealed unusual structural motifs and extremely different chemistries, with identical hydrothermal reactions forming KMnSiO versus KMnGeO(OH)(HO). The germanate is exceptional in both its -axis length (exceeding 76 Å) and unit cell volume (nearly 18000 Å), the largest known polygermanate structure to our knowledge.
