View Article and Find Full Text PDFIron-nitrogen on carbon (Fe-N/C) catalysts have emerged as promising nonprecious metal catalysts (NPMCs) for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) in energy conversion and storage devices. It has been widely suggested that an active site structure for Fe-N/C catalysts contains Fe-N coordination. However, the preparation of high-performance Fe-N/C catalysts mostly involves a high-temperature pyrolysis step, which generates not only catalytically active Fe-N sites, but also less active large iron-based particles.

Therefore, tests were designed to ascertain the effect of pretreatment on current generation. In initial tests, the optimal amount of catalyst was found to be 300 g/l.

To address this issue, we investigate the current fluctuations of organic nanocomposite memory devices with NDR and the IRSs under various temperature conditions. The 1/f noise scaling behaviors at various temperature conditions in the IRSs and telegraphic noise in NDR indicate the localized current pathways in the organic nanocomposite layers for each IRS.

Capacitive mixing (CapMix) is a promising class of SGE technologies that captures energy using capacitive or battery electrodes, but CapMix devices have produced relatively low power densities and often require expensive materials. Here, we combined existing CapMix approaches to develop a concentration flow cell that can overcome these limitations.

Methods: A total of 718,306 Korean men and women aged 50-90 years were followed for 7 years in a national system-based cohort study.
[Purpose] The purpose of this study was to provide the data for constructing an integrated exercise program to help restore muscle strength and stability through extension strength exercise in adult females with lumbar disc herniation. [Subjects and Methods] An 8-week exercise program for lumbar muscle extension strength and stabilization was performed by 26 females older than 20 with lumbar disc herniation findings. [Results] Significant differences were found in lumbar extension muscle strength at every angle of lumbar flexion after participation in the 8-week stabilization exercise program; but there was no significant difference in the weight distribution index.

Our purposes were to evaluate the trends in the incidence and mortality of spinal fractures between 2008 and 2012 and predict the number of spinal fractures that will occur in Korea up to 2025, using nationwide data from the National Health Insurance Service (NHIS). A nationwide data set was evaluated to identify all new visits to medical institutes for spinal fractures in men and women aged 50 years or older between 2008 and 2012.

To date, MEBs have only been prepared from solutions containing chloride salts, owing to their relevance in natural salinity gradients created from seawater and freshwater. We hypothesized that MEBs could capture energy using ammonium bicarbonate (AmB), a thermolytic salt that can be used to convert waste heat into salinity gradients.

We tested a hypothesis that 32/36 mm Delta ceramic bearing decreases the dislocation rate. We also evaluated ceramic-related complications and early outcome of this thin liner-on-large head ceramic bearing.

The monolayer MoS2 film was grown by a chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method, and the top-contact Ag source/drain electrodes (S/D) were deposited onto the films using a low-cost drop-on-demand inkjet-printing process without any masks and surface treatments. The electrical characteristics of FETs were comparable to those fabricated by conventional deposition methods such as photo- or electron beam lithography.

A rapid and accurate DST is necessary to identify patients with drug-resistant TB and treat them with appropriate drugs.

In this study, we characterized the electrical and photo-responsive properties of MoS2 FET when stacking a p-type organic copper phthalocyanine (CuPc) layer on the MoS2 surface. We observed that the threshold voltage of MoS2 FET could be controlled by stacking the CuPc layers due to a charge transfer phenomenon at the interface.
