Herein, NaCl-templated mesoporous hard carbons (NMCs) have been designed and engineered with tunable surface properties as anode materials for potassium-ion batteries (KIBs) and hybrid capacitors (KICs). By utilizing "water-in-oil" emulsions, the size of NaCl templates is precisely modified, leading to smaller particles that enable the formation of primary carbon structures with reduced particle size and secondary structures with 3D interconnected mesoporosity. These features significantly enhance electrode density, reduce particle-to-particle resistance, and improve electrolyte wettability.

Methods: We investigated 160 adults, excluding 4 minors, from 164 suspected mpox patients reported in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon, and Gangwon from June 21, 2022 to October 31, 2023. Data were collected via telephone and face-to-face interviews.
Proline is a major substrate in collagen biosynthesis and is required for collagen molecule formations. However, detailed explanations of the molecular basis through which proline functions in collagen biosynthesis have yet to be provided. Thus, genome-wide screening was employed to elucidate these in the pre-osteoblastic MC3T3-E1 and human periodontal ligament fibroblast (hPDLF) cell lines.

In this study, we present the synthesis and characterization of a novel visible-light-active photocatalyst comprising hedgehog-shaped zinc oxide (ZnO) nanostructures coupled with graphene quantum dots (GQDs). Optical properties assessed by UV-visible and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy revealed that the ZnO/GQDs heterostructure possessed a reduced band gap (2.

From comprehensive omics analyses, we found that SCN1A KO organoids exhibit decreased growth, dysregulated neurotransmitter levels, and altered lipidomic, proteomic, and transcriptomic profiles compared to controls under matrix-free differentiation conditions. Neurochemical analysis reveals reduced levels of key neurotransmitters, and lipidomic analysis highlights changes in ether phospholipids and sphingomyelin.

Memristive properties, as exemplars of these attributes, are predominantly manifested in wide-bandgap materials. However, simultaneously harnessing semiconductor properties alongside memristive characteristics to produce memtransistors is challenging.

The redeployment of this workforce has limited or interrupted other public health services, including testing for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). This study aims to examine the impact of COVID-19 on HIV testing and diagnosis in the Republic of Korea from 2016 to 2021, comparing data before and after the onset of COVID-19.

One of its consequences is the recent discovery of micropollutant discharge into water, with Bisphenol A (BA-MP) being a typical example. This study utilizes an advanced oxidation process based on Pt-doped ZnO photocatalyst to remove BA-MP.

Despite the high reliability of physical examination, the requirement of excessive use of clinician time has been considered a main drawback.
Objective: To develop an automated free flap monitoring system using artificial intelligence (AI), minimizing human involvement while maintaining efficiency.
Scopoletin, a coumarin class natural phytoalexin, is present in medicinal plants such as noni (Morinda citrifolia). It exhibits diverse pharmacological properties, including antioxidant, anti-hyperuricemic, and anti-inflammatory effects. The objective of this study was to develop a novel HPLC-fluorescence (HPLC-FL) method for the quantitative analysis of scopoletin in the plasma and to investigate its pharmacokinetics in rats.

Methods: This cross-sectional multicenter study collected data on depressive symptoms, insomnia symptoms, and excessive daytime sleepiness, which were defined as a Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) score of ≥ 10, an Insomnia Severity Index (ISI) score of ≥ 15, and an Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS) of ≥ 11, respectively. Further, uncontrolled seizures were defined as one or more seizures per month during antiseizure medications treatment.
Prohibitin (PHB) is an essential scaffold protein that modulates signaling pathways controlling cell survival, metabolism, inflammation, and bone formation. However, its specific role in periodontium development remains less understood. This study aims to elucidate the expression pattern and function of PHB in periodontium development and its involvement in alveolar bone formation.
