Activation and Stabilization of Lipase B from Candida antarctica by Immobilization on Polymer Brushes with Optimized Surface Structure.

A reusable support system for the immobilization of lipases is developed using hybrid polymer-inorganic core shell nanoparticles. The biocatalyst core consists of a silica nanoparticle. PMMA is grafted from the nanoparticle as polymer brush via ARGET ATRP (activator regenerated by electron transfer atom transfer radical polymerization), which allows defining the surface properties by chemical synthesis conditions.
