Telerehabilitation using a 2-D planar arm rehabilitation robot for hemiparetic stroke: a feasibility study of clinic-to-home exergaming therapy.

Background: We evaluated the feasibility, safety, and efficacy of a 2D-planar robot for minimally supervised home-based upper-limb therapy for post-stroke hemiparesis.

Methods: The H-Man, end effector robot, combined with web-based software application for remote tele-monitoring were evaluated at homes of participants. Inclusion criteria were: strokes > 28 days, Fugl-Meyer Motor Assessment (FMA) > 10-60/66, presence of a carer and absence of medical contraindications.

Habit and Automaticity in Medical Alert Override: Cohort Study.

Background: Prior literature suggests that alert dismissal could be linked to physicians' habits and automaticity. The evidence for this perspective has been mainly observational data. This study uses log data from an electronic medical records system to empirically validate this perspective.

Prediction of Readmission in Geriatric Patients From Clinical Notes: Retrospective Text Mining Study.

Background: Prior literature suggests that psychosocial factors adversely impact health and health care utilization outcomes. However, psychosocial factors are typically not captured by the structured data in electronic medical records (EMRs) but are rather recorded as free text in different types of clinical notes.

Objective: We here propose a text-mining approach to analyze EMRs to identify older adults with key psychosocial factors that predict adverse health care utilization outcomes, measured by 30-day readmission.

Artificial intelligence in sepsis early prediction and diagnosis using unstructured data in healthcare.

Sepsis is a leading cause of death in hospitals. Early prediction and diagnosis of sepsis, which is critical in reducing mortality, is challenging as many of its signs and symptoms are similar to other less critical conditions. We develop an artificial intelligence algorithm, SERA algorithm, which uses both structured data and unstructured clinical notes to predict and diagnose sepsis.

Cost analysis of implementing a telegeriatrics ecosystem with nursing homes: panel data analysis.

Our study analyzed the economicimpact of a telegeriatrics programme on care of nursing homeresidents, from the healthcare system provider's perspective. Thisis a retrospective, archival data analysis of multiple data sourcesin 4 nursing homes of Singapore from 2010 to 2015. Individualsadmitted to nursing homes and have undergone telemedicineconsultations (N=859) from 2010 to 2015 were recruited.
