Recent studies have focused on accurately estimating mental workload using machine learning algorithms and extracting features from physiological measures. However, feature extraction leads to the loss of valuable information and often results in binary classifications that lack specificity in the identification of optimum mental workload. Background: Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) is a non-pharmacological treatment that works by delivering electrical currents via electrodes attached to the skin at the site of pain. It can be an alternative to pharmacological treatments. The mechanism of action of TENS for pain relief is related to the inhibition of the transmission of painful stimuli, release of endogenous opioids, and reduced muscle ischaemia of the uterus.

Background: Expression of the KITENIN/ErbB4 oncogenic complex is associated with metastasis of colorectal cancer to distant organs and lymph nodes and is linked with poor prognosis and poor survival.

Methods: Here, we used in vitro and in silico methods to test the ability of chrysophanol, a molecule of natural origin, to suppress the progression of colorectal cancer by targeting the KITENIN/ErbB4 complex.

Results: Chrysophanol binds to ErbB4, disrupting the ErbB4/KITENIN complex and causing autophagic degradation of KITENIN.

Correlation between the global rating of change (GRC) questionnaire, a 5-item Likert scale (much better, slightly better, about the same, slightly worse, and much worse), and PROMs (Oswestry Disability Index, visual analog scale for back and leg pain, 12-Item Short Form Health Survey Physical Component Summary and Mental Component Summary, and PROMIS physical function) was assessed using Spearman's rank correlation coefficients.

Purpose: To explore the abnormality score trends of artificial intelligence-based computer-aided diagnosis (AI-CAD) in the serial mammography of patients until a final diagnosis of breast cancer.

This paper elucidates and rationalizes the ethical governance system for healthcare AI research, as outlined in the 'Research Ethics Guidelines for AI Researchers in Healthcare' published by the South Korean government in August 2023. In developing the guidelines, a four-phase clinical trial process was expanded to six stages for healthcare AI research: preliminary ethics review (stage 1); creating datasets (stage 2); model development (stage 3); training, validation, and evaluation (stage 4); application (stage 5); and post-deployment monitoring (stage 6). Researchers identified similarities between clinical trials and healthcare AI research, particularly in research subjects, management and regulations, and application of research results.

The most clinically relevant food allergens are cow's milk, hen's egg, peanut, tree nuts, wheat, soy, fish, shellfish, and seeds. Heat-stable food allergens have molecular characteristics that enhance protein stability and gastrointestinal absorption and thus are more likely to cause systemic reactions on ingestion. Allergen-specific immunotherapy for the treatment of immunoglobulin E mediated food allergies, specifically oral, epicutaneous, and sublingual immunotherapies, are promising options that may provide an alternative to strict avoidance of the dietary allergen. Of these potential therapies, oral immunotherapy is the furthest along in development, with strong evidence of efficacy in clinical trials, and has achieved regulatory approval. Nevertheless, oral immunotherapy may not be a suitable therapy for some patients due to the risk of adverse effects.
