Article Synopsis
  • The study analyzed carbamate pesticide residues in various date palm fruits in the UAE using advanced UHPLC-MS/MS technology.
  • The effectiveness of different QuEChERS extraction kits was tested, with Kit 2 showing the best results in terms of precision and recovery.
  • While all samples contained residues, most were below legal limits, and health risk assessments indicated that consuming these dates does not pose a significant health risk for consumers.

This study aimed to use ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to a triple-quadrupole mass spectrometer to detect 11 carbamate pesticide residues in raw and pasteurized camel milk samples collected from the United Arab Emirates. A method was developed and validated by evaluating limits of detection, limits of quantitation, linearity, extraction recovery, repeatability, intermediate precision, and matrix effect. Due to the high protein and fat content in camel milk, a sample preparation step was necessary to avoid potential interference during analysis.

We study a stochastic multi-period two-echelon dual sourcing inventory system where the buyer can source a product from two different suppliers: a regular and an expedited supplier. The regular supplier is a low-cost offshore supplier, whereas the expedited supplier is a responsive nearshore supplier. Such dual sourcing inventory systems have been well studied in the literature, mostly being solely evaluated from the buyer's perspective.
