Background/aim: HyperArc (HA) is an automated planning technique enabling single-isocenter brain stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT); however, dosimetric outcomes may be influenced by the planner's expertise. This study aimed to assess the impact of institutional experience on the plan quality of HA-SRT for both single and multiple brain metastases.
Materials And Methods: Twenty patients who underwent HA-SRT for single metastasis between 2020 and 2021 comprised the earlier group, while those treated between 2022 and 2024 constituted the later group.
Small intestine neuroendocrine tumours (SI-NETs) are often diagnosed late with a UK median of 3 years and high misdiagnosis rates. Previous studies, largely based on patient surveys, offer little data on improving diagnosis. In 2017, the South Wales NET service underwent a nationally commissioned, systematic transformation, aiming to improve diagnosis through the development of a gastroenterology and surgical referral network, and education of these specialities.

In this case, dispersed lipid mesophases were composed of ionisable oleic acid (OA) or nicergoline (NG) in monoolein (MO). The sensitivity of LFR spectroscopy to low-energy intermolecular vibrations was hypothesised to be due to structural transformation in ionisable dispersed mesophases upon changes in pH.

Despite the prevalence of ingestion of particles (e.g, during oral drug delivery), our understanding of corona formation within the gastrointestinal (GI) tract remains limited, especially for non-protein components.

The diffraction profiles were combined with principal component analysis (PCA) of the fatty acid (FA) composition during digestion. Half of the plant-based drinks were found to form an inverse micellar cubic phase which is substantially different from the inverse hexagonal and bicontinuous cubic phases determined in bovine milk during digestion.

The pseudo-macrocyclic tetrakisporphyrin monomers self-assembled to form supramolecular helical pseudo-polycatenane polymers via head-to-head complementary dimerization of the bisporphyrin cleft units in an isodesmic manner. The formation of one-handed supramolecular helical pseudo-polycatenane polymers was confirmed by circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy.

The formation of a biomolecular corona on nanoparticles in blood is a well-known phenomenon influencing in vivo performance. Analogous phenomena in other biological fluids, such as the formation of a gastrointestinal (GI) corona, remain under-investigated. The ingestion of medicines leads to the generation of drug particles in the GI fluids.

We report that whisker Mn3Sn crystals grown by the flux method exhibit a non-hysteretic AHE at mid-to-low temperatures when the whisker Mn3Sn is surrounded by a thin layer of ferromagnetic Mn2-xSn. These crystals exhibit a hysteretic AHE above 275 K due to the spin alignment of the inverse triangular lattice, which is similar to other crystals.

Animals: 18 client-owned toy-breed dogs (20 treated limbs).
Clinical Presentation: Toy-breed dogs with MSL were treated with the antiluxation pin (2017 to 2022).
While dual-energy computed tomography (DECT) technology introduces energy-specific information in clinical practice, single-energy CT (SECT) is predominantly used, limiting the number of people who can benefit from DECT. This study proposed a novel method to generate synthetic low-energy virtual monochromatic images at 50 keV (sVMI) from SECT images using a transformer-based deep learning model, SwinUNETR. Data were obtained from 85 patients who underwent head and neck radiotherapy.

Animals: In total, 307 client-owned dogs with C-IVDD treated with spinal cord decompression with or without vertebral stabilization (2000-2021).
Methods: Information on age, sex, affected sites, stabilized sites, diagnostic methods for vertebral instability and outcomes were retrieved.
Aims: Identifying patients with vulnerable plaque who have poor prognosis among those with coronary artery disease (CAD) is crucial to deciding future therapeutic interventions. We previously reported that male CAD patients with low anti-apolipoprotein B-100 autoantibody (anti-apoB-100 Ab) levels were at an increased risk of developing unstable plaque lesions. This study focused on the autoantibodies against lipoprotein lipase (LPL), a key enzyme in triglyceride metabolism, which is another risk factor for atherosclerosis, and investigated their association with plaque characteristics.

This multidrug-resistant yeast often colonizes and persists on the skin of patients, can easily spread from person to person, and can cause life-threatening systemic infections. New antifungal therapies are therefore urgently needed to limit and control both superficial and systemic infections.

This retrospective study divided 40 patients who had undergone preoperative CRT (50-60 Gy in 25 fractions) followed by surgical resection into two groups: the response group (Grades II, III and IV, evaluated from surgical specimens) and the nonresponse group (Grades Ia and Ib). The computed tomography number [in Hounsfield units (HUs)] and iodine concentration (IC) were measured at the locations of the aorta, PC and pancreatic parenchyma (PP) in the contrast-enhanced 4D dual-energy computed tomography images.

In contrast, while the oral route is the most favorable administration method for pharmaceuticals, little is known about the formation and composition of the corona formed by biomolecules on particles within the gastrointestinal tract. This work reviews the current literature understanding of (1) the formation of drug particles after oral administration, (2) the formation of a biomolecular corona within the gastrointestinal tract ("the gastrointestinal corona"), and (3) the possible implications of the formation of a gastrointestinal corona on the interactions of drug particles with their biological environment.

Low-frequency Raman (LFR) spectroscopy was used in this study to investigate solid-state phase transformations under biorelevant temperature and pH conditions along with the presence of biomolecules. Melt-quenched amorphous indomethacin was used as a model solid particulate, and its solid-state behavior was evaluated at 37 °C and pH 1.

The plastication of pellets in a co-rotating twin-screw extruder is a significant concern for product homogeneity and stability in the plastic industry. We developed a sensing technology for pellet plastication in a plastication and melting zone in a self-wiping co-rotating twin-screw extruder. The collapse of the solid part of the pellets emits an elastic wave as an acoustic emission (AE) that is measured on the kneading section of the twin-screw extruder using homo polypropylene pellets.

However, owing to the limitations of current investigative techniques, the selected microorganisms are not always preferred by the host plant, preventing recruitment into the native microbiota or failing to induce plant growth-promoting effects. To address this, five nitrogen-fixing bacteria previously isolated from water yam ( L.
