- Tobacco use is a significant public health concern in Indonesia, prompting a study on dental students' intentions to provide tobacco cessation counseling (TCC) based on the theory of planned behavior (TPB).
- The study surveyed 1288 dental students across 30 schools, revealing a high average intention to provide TCC (4.3/5) and generally positive attitudes about TCC being a dentist’s responsibility (3.8/5).
- Findings indicated that students' intentions to provide TCC were positively influenced by their confidence in their skills and their attitudes towards TCC, while a less favorable perception of their environment hindered this intention.
