The high neutron-absorption cross sections of Gd isotopes (Gd and Gd) implement negative reactivity in the reactor core to control the excess reactivity of the fuel at the beginning of the fission cycle. The presence of other rare earth elements, which can come from the starting material and/or may be taken up during the synthesis steps, will affect the negative reactivity calculation.

Vaccine efficacy is largely contributed by the epitopes present on the viral proteins and their alteration might help emerging variants to escape host immune surveillance. Therefore, this study was designed to study SARS-CoV-2 Nsp13 protein, its epitopes and evolution.

However, traditional means of programming, including thermo-optic, free carrier dispersion, and Pockels effect result in either large device footprints or high static energy consumptions, significantly limiting their scalability. While chalcogenide-based non-volatile phase-change materials (PCMs) could mitigate these problems thanks to their strong index modulation and zero static power consumption, they often suffer from large absorptive loss, low cyclability, and lack of multilevel operation.

Also, immediate implant placement can act as a guide for proper and accurate implant placement. Additionally, in immediate implant placement, the resorption of bone associated with the healing of the extraction socket is also reduced.

The physiological, biochemical and molecular basis of high temperature stress tolerance is poorly understood in this model vegetable crop. In the present study, a set of genotypes with contrasting response under two different temperature stress (35/30°C and 40/35°C) were evaluated for important physiological and biochemical traits.

Pusa Parthenocarpic Cucumber-6 (PPC-6) is one of the important commercially cultivated varieties under protected conditions in India. Understanding the genetics of parthenocarpy, molecular mapping and the development of molecular markers closely associated with the trait will facilitate the introgression of parthenocarpic traits into non-conventional germplasm and elite varieties.

The solution structures of the DNA binding domain of MazE6 and of its complex with the cognate operator DNA show that transcriptional regulation occurs by binding of MazE6 to an 18 bp operator sequence bearing the TANNNT motif (-10 region). Kinetics and thermodynamics of association, as determined by NMR and ITC, indicate that the nMazE6-DNA complex is of high affinity.

This study was undertaken to understand the role of the important cytokines (CKs), auxin (AUX) and gibberellin (GA) biosynthesis and degradation genes for the induction of parthenocarpy in slicing and pickling germplasm. Two genotypes of gynoecious parthenocarpic cucumber, PPC-6 and DG-8, along with an MABC-derived gynoecious non-parthenocarpic line, IMPU-1, were evaluated in this study.

One natural variant, DC-48 with an extended shelf-life was identified, fruits of which can be stored up to 10-15 days under room temperature. The genes involved in this economically important trait are regulated by non-coding RNAs.
