Demographic characteristics and outcome of burn patients requiring skin grafts: a tertiary hospital experience.

Split thickness skin graft (STSG) and full thickness skin graft (FTSG) are the integral part of burn wound management. However the impact of these graft types on the outcome still remain a matter of controversy. The purpose of this study was to determine the demographic characteristics and outcome of graft surgery of the patients undergone STSG and FTSG at Plastic Surgery Department of Prince Sultan Military Medical City (PSMMC), Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Evaluating and grading cystographic leakage: correlation with clinical outcomes in patients undergoing robotic prostatectomy.

Objective: To classify cystographically detected urinary leaks in patients undergoing computer-assisted (robotic) radical prostatectomy (RP) and to evaluate its effect on postoperative outcomes.

Patients And Methods: Between October 2001 and October 2007, 3327 patients had a RP using a technique described previously. The data were entered prospectively into an approved database.

Atypical angiomyolipoma of kidney in a patient with tuberous sclerosis: a case report with p53 gene mutation analysis.

Angiomyolipoma (AML) is the most common benign mesenchymal tumor of the kidney. It belongs to the family of perivascular epithelioid cell tumors and is typically composed of blood vessels, adipose tissue, and smooth muscle- like cells, which are characteristically positive for HMB-45. Results of recent studies suggest that p53 mutation may play an important role in AML progression.
