Introduction: Ischaemic stroke, primarily caused by thromboembolic events, typically arises as a consequence of underlying vascular or cardiac pathology. Non-thrombotic embolic strokes, although rare, are increasingly seen in interventional and intravascular procedures. Oxygen-ozone therapy (OOT) is one of the popular treatments for lumbar disc herniation, providing pain relief.

However, the diagnosis of prescriptions is not determined in the claims data of many countries. This study aimed to develop a decision rule algorithm using prescriptions to detect patients with hypertension in claims data.

Worldwide, there is concern that non-evidence-based interventions and care in labor and childbirth will remain standard practice. Therefore, access to care related to pregnancy and childbirth is considered a priority.

Given the fact that human experiences in any society can be influenced by cultural, economic, and social differences. Therefore, the present qualitative study aimed to investigate mothers' perceptions and experiences of natural childbirth and QoC in childbirth management based on SCC.

In Arabidopsis thaliana, WHIRLY1 has been studied at the later stages of plant development, including flowering and leaf senescence, as well as in biotic and abiotic stress responses. In this study, WHIRLY1 knockout mutants of A.

We aim to determine the trends in the prevalence of these risk factors among Iranian adults with hypertension from 2007 to 2021.
Methods: We utilized data for adults from 25 to 64 years old from four rounds of the STEPwise approach to non-communicable diseases risk factor surveillance (STEPS) study conducted in Iran in 2007, 2011, 2016, and 2021.
Objectives: The significant health differences between sexes in Iran in terms of burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) point to the urgency of developing policies. We aim to explore sex disparities in NCDs.
Methods: We used Global Burden of Disease 2019 study to compare estimates of incidence, prevalence, disability-adjusted life years (DALYs), years lived with disabilities (YLDs), years of life lost (YLLs), and deaths among sexes for NCDs, and their main subgroups; neoplasms, cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), chronic respiratory diseases (CRDs), diabetes mellitus (DM) during 1990-2019.

Primary pulmonary leiomyosarcoma (PPL) arises from pulmonary smooth muscle tissue, with less than 0.5% incidence among pulmonary malignancies and 30% among primary pulmonary sarcomas. Here, we present a case of PPL managed with pazopanib.

ECFs are, in most cases, a result of surgical complications such as missed enterotomies or anastomotic leaks. The constant leakage of enteric and fecal contents from the fistula site leads to skin breakdown and increases the risk of infection.

Introduction: The prevalence of asymptomatic fever among children is high and may be confused with fever caused by corona. The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics of inflammatory factors and cardiac enzymes in children with Covid-19 hospitalized with the initial manifestation of fever without other symptoms.
Methods: In this descriptive-analytical cross-sectional study, all 200 children with positive Covid-19 were hospitalized in Hazrat Ali-Asghar Hospital in Tehran between 2018 and 2019.
Agrobacterium-mediated transformation is a preferred method for genetic engineering and genome editing of plants due to its numerous advantages, although not all species exhibit transformability. Genetic engineering and plant genome editing methods are technically challenging in recalcitrant crop plants. Factors affecting the poor rate of transformation in such species include host genotype, Agrobacterium genotype, type of explant, physiological condition of the explant, vector, selectable marker, inoculation method, chemical additives, antioxidative compounds, transformation-enhancing compounds, medium formulation, optimization of culture conditions, and pre-treatments.

This case highlights parkinsonism as a rare initial manifestation of sporadic CJD (sCJD), emphasizing the need for heightened clinical awareness to prevent misdiagnosis. Early and accurate diagnosis of sCJD is crucial for preventing potential iatrogenic transmission and optimizing patient management.

In this systematic review and metaanalysis, we investigated the BP control rate among hypertensive diabetic patients in the Eastern Mediterranean Region (EMR) countries.
Methods: We systematically searched PubMed, Scopus, Embase, Cochrane, and Web of Science databases up to January 2023 for observational studies on BP control among hypertensive diabetic patients in all EMR countries.
The conventional technique for successful bone grafts, involving the use of a patienťs own tissue (autografts), is challenged by limited availability and donor site morbidity. While allografts and xenografts offer alternatives, they come with the risk of rejection. This underscores the pressing need for tailor-made artificial bone graft materials.

Understanding the determinants and factors influencing SMBG behavior is crucial for optimizing diabetes management in this population.
Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the frequency of SMBG and identify the determinants influencing factors in children and adolescents with T1DM.
Background: Loss-of-function (LOF) variants of the angiopoietin-like 3 (ANGPTL3) gene are reported to be associated with serum triglyceride (TG) and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) concentrations and thereby affect the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD).
Objective: In the present study, we examined the association of rs10789117 in the ANGPTL 3 gene locus and the risk of CVD in the group of people who were part of the Mashhad-Stroke and Heart-Atherosclerotic-Disorders (MASHAD) cohort.
Methods: One thousand and two healthy individuals enrolled in this study of whom 849 subjects were healthy and 153 subjects developed CVD outcomes after 6 years of follow-up.

Background: Autologous fat injection techniques are specially performed to restore the lack of face volume.
Aim: However, no reports have focused on the effect of sides of injection on the sagging appearance improvements and facial lifting. This study aimed to evaluate face lifting using the autologous fat injection in to sides of the face as a new technique.
In the last years, plant organelles have emerged as central coordinators of responses to internal and external stimuli, which can induce stress. Mitochondria play a fundamental role as stress sensors being part of a complex communication network between the organelles and the nucleus. Among the different environmental stresses, salt stress poses a significant challenge and requires efficient signaling and protective mechanisms.

Methods: All meta-analyses of the clinical trials conducted on the impact of biotics on overweight/obesity indicators in general populations, pregnant women, and infants published until June 2023 in PubMed, Web of Sciences, Scopus, Embase, and Cochrane Library web databases included.
Patient-derived organoids (PDOs) developed ex vivo and in vitro are increasingly used for therapeutic screening. They provide a more physiologically relevant model for drug discovery and development compared to traditional cell lines. However, several challenges remain to be addressed to fully realize the potential of PDOs in therapeutic screening.
