The diagnosis and differential diagnosis of attendant ischemic heart disease (IHD) was conducted in 65 men (age 49-74 years) with Takayashu's syndrome and 59 men (age 39-64 years) with associated atherosclerotic lesions of the arch branches and the abdominal portion of the aorta. The examination was performed using velo- and spiroergometry, echocardiography, drug tests, coronaroventriculography. IHD was diagnosed in 38.

Standardization of veloergometry for functional assessment of oxygen transport in patients with ischemic heart disease (IHD) was studied using cardiopulmonary complex Siregnost FD 88S (Siemens, Germany) and spiroveloergometry. Standard veloergometry protocol was applied for 30 healthy and 55 IHD males. The methodological approach and validity of application of standard veloergometry protocol in IHD patients are discussed.
