Three procedures of active thermography were used in examination of 1301 patients with stage I-III breast tumors. The evaluation of their diagnostic effectiveness established their evident advantages over any method of passive thermography. Application of active procedures increased diagnostic accuracy by 9-15% and decreased the number of false negative results by 4-10%.

Pelan and Elnar type electric stimulators were used to produce analgesia in 178 cancer patients in the course of surgery and in early postoperative period. The results of a complex study using rhythmography, acid-base balance, blood-sugar level, arterial and central venous pressure measurements and psychophysiologic examination with the Neuron type installation showed that joint application of electric stimulation and local anesthesia as well as the use of electric stimulation in combination with intravenous injection of hydroxybutyric acid, seduxen and ketalar provide adequate intraoperative anesthesia in 85% of cases. Postoperative application of electroanesthesia in cancer patients was followed by a significantly lower requirement of narcotic analgetics.

A complex examination by radio-isotope (32P) and thermographic methods was carried out in 252 patients, 122 patients underwent surgery. The complex diagnostic study established the following three groups: test-positive, test-negative and test-suspected patients. Application of the complex (radioisotope and thermographic) examination technique provides a more adequate visualization of tumor process and, therefore, a better opportunity for selection of correct treatment.

Lung cancer morbidity in MSSR is analysed on the basis of statistical data for 1966-1972. The rate of lung cancer incidence is found to be higher than in cancer of the stomach. As a result of extrapolation of average tendencies in the morbidity and mortality of main cancer localizations, it was found that provided the observed tendencies are remained, lung cancer will occupy the first place in the structure of oncological morbidity (to 1976--1977) and mortality (to 1979--1980).
