[Mathematical prognostication of the efficacy of peloidotherapy in the patients with chronic bronchitis and obstructive pulmonary disease].

This study included prognostication of the results of daily application of peloids for the treatment of the patients presenting with chronic bronchitis and obstructive pulmonary disease using a mathematical model. It was shown that the individualized selection of the patients for the daily application of peloid preparations taking into consideration the results of mathematical prognostication makes it possible to significantly improve the total efficacy of the treatment (up to 97.7%), accelerate the achievement of positive outcome of peloidotherapy, reduce by a factor of 4 the frequency of moderately severe balneoreactions, and increase the duration of the remission period by 3.

[Circumannular features of non-specific resistance in patients with osteoarthrosis in mid-lattitudes].

Modified cosinor-analysis was used to calculate biorhythmologic characteristics (period, amplitude, phase, mesor) of the circumannual rhythm of neuroendocrine regulation parameters, the state of bioradical hemostasis, and protein components of non-specific resistance in patients with osteoarthrosis living in moderate climates. Near-annual rhythms of these parameters are described. The chronological analysis indicates that strenuouos activity of the regulatory systems responsible for adaptive reactions of the organism falls within the periods from March to May and from August to October.

[Effect of extreme conditions on seasonal patterns of endocrine and metabolic processes].

The study was designed to clarify seasonal patterns of endocrine and metabolic processes and their changes under extreme conditions in Special Police Force servicemen. Hormonal status, lipid spectra, activity of lipid peroxidation and nonspecific protection systems were assessed during transition seasons. It was shown that the stay in a local armed conflict zone had marked effect on the structure of adaptive reactions.

[The rationale for chronooptimization of rehabilitative treatment under mid-latitude conditions].

Rhythmic patterns in the functioning of different systems of the body should be taken into consideration when developing new therapeutic modalities intended for the improvement of efficiency of health care measures. The study of chronobiological features of the work of organ systems in patients with different diseases residing in mid-latitude regions provided a rationale for the differential approach to the prescription of medicinal preparations of natural origin in selected periods of the annual cycle.
