Structure, optical properties and antimicrobial activities of MgO-BiCrO nanocomposites prepared via solvent-deficient method.

Article Synopsis

MgO-BiCrO nanocomposites with compositions x = 0 and 0.07 were created using a solvent-deficient method and analyzed using techniques like X-ray diffraction and UV-Vis spectroscopy.
The non-doped sample exhibited a monoclinic crystalline structure without MgO peaks, while the Cr-doped sample showed a smaller crystallite size and two distinct energy gaps in its optical properties.
Antibacterial tests revealed that Cr-doping reduced the effectiveness of the MgO-BiCrO nanocomposites against various bacteria, including Salmonella and Staphylococcus.
