At present health education programmes abroad make wide use of social marketing strategy. Unlike commercial marketing whose purpose is competition and struggle for the expansion of commodity markets, social marketing is aimed at disseminating certain ideas or introducing certain practices, using largely the technological base and strategy of commercial marketing. The authors give 8 fundamental principles of social marketing (consumer orientation, the theory of barter, the analysis of audience and segmentation, special surveys to detect the orientation of population, the choice of channels for information transmission application of "marketing mixture", control of ongoing programme and marketing management).

It has been proposed that IgD may have a pathophysiological role in certain autoimmune diseases, since antinuclear IgD antibodies were revealed in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis and systemic sclerodermia. The studies on the problem of evaluation of serum IgD levels in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) are scanty and their results are controversial. We studied IgD levels in patients with RA in order to demonstrate possible correlations with selected immunologic parameters, and to determine the relevance of IgD quantitation in the diagnosis of RA.

The content of IgG, IgM and IgA was studied in the blood serum of 408 donors aged from 18 to 46 years and older (217 men and 191 women). The results obtained were expressed in the IU and in absolute values by protein. It was established that the quantity of immunoglobulins of all the three classes increased with the advance of age.
