Nonreciprocity, inequivalence in amplitudes and frequencies of spin waves propagating in opposite directions, is a key property underlying functionality in prospective magnonic devices. Here we demonstrate experimentally and theoretically a simple approach to induce frequency nonreciprocity in a magnetostatically coupled ferromagnetic bilayer structure with a nonmagnetic spacer by its geometrical asymmetry. Using Brillouin light scattering, we show the formation of two collective spin wave modes in FeGa/Cu/FeGa structure with different thicknesses of ferromagnetic layers.

The 120 fs circularly polarized laser pulses were used to launch magnetization precession in an all-dielectric magneto-photonic crystals (MPC) formed by magnetic layers sandwiched between and inside two magnetic Bragg mirrors. Optical pump-probe experiments reveal magnetization precession triggered via ultrafast inverse Faraday effect with an amplitude strongly dependent on the pump central wavelength: maxima of the amplitude are achieved for the wavelength tuned at the cavity resonance and at the edge of the photonic bandgap.

Unlabelled: The urgency of the problem of wound healing is not in doubt, given the global trend of an increase in the number of operations and injuries with skin damage, as well as the lack of universal means of treating wounds.
Study Objective: To compare the effectiveness of the developed drugs, smart polymeric nano-drug with cerium oxide nanoparticles (SPN), and smart polymeric nano-drug in combination with mesenchymal stem cells (SPN + SC) on the healing process of skin wounds.
Material And Methods: An experimental study was carried out using Wistar rats of post-reproductive age, which had dermis and epidermis removed on their backs.
In nanoscale communications, high-frequency surface acoustic waves are becoming effective data carriers and encoders. On-chip communications require acoustic wave propagation along nanocorrugated surfaces which strongly scatter traditional Rayleigh waves. Here, we propose the delivery of information using subsurface acoustic waves with hypersound frequencies of ∼20 GHz, which is a nanoscale analogue of subsurface sound waves in the ocean.

Here, we report the generation of iPSC line from a patient, heterozygous for the intronic INS mutation that presumably leads to aberrant splicing. Dermal fibroblasts were reprogrammed using non-integrating RNA-based vector.

This study aims to evaluate the medical efficacy of a novel smart polymeric nanodrug (SPN) on the rate and mechanism of wound healing in experimental animals. The study was carried out in male Wistar rats (aged 8-9 months).

The acoustic structures considered are designed as phononic Fabry-Perot microresonators where mirrors are presented with an acoustic superlattice and the structure's surface, and a plasmonic grating is placed on top of the acoustic cavity so formed. It provides phonon localization in the vicinity of the plasmonic grating at frequencies within the phononic stop band enhancing phonon-light interaction.

As a biomass crop, yield and quality are impacted by the timing of plant developmental transitions such as flowering and senescence. Growth models are available for the commercially grown clone (), but breeding programs have been working to expand the germplasm available, including development of interspecies hybrids.

We propose and demonstrate a new concept for the light control via electric field applied locally to a magnetic domain wall playing the role of nanodevice. In detail, we charged a 15-μm-thick metallic tip to generate strong non-uniform electric field in the vicinity of the domain wall in the iron garnet film.

Miscanthus bioenergy and bioproduct chains were investigated by trialing 15 diverse germplasm types in a range of climatic and soil environments across central Europe, Ukraine, Russia, and China. The abiotic stress tolerances of a wider panel of 100 germplasm types to drought, salinity, and low temperatures were measured in the laboratory and a field trial in Belgium.

It is shown that the propagation constants of the TM waveguide modes are sensitive to the transverse magnetization and the spectrum of the transverse magneto-optical Kerr effect has resonant features at mode excitation frequencies. Two types of structures are considered: a non-magnetic photonic crystal with an additional magnetic layer on top and a magneto-photonic crystal with a magnetic layer within each period.

We present a theoretical model describing this process and show that the pump induces the phase modulation of the probe pulse leading to its compression by about 20% and the variation of the delay between two SPP pulses up to 15 fs for the incident fluence of the pump of 1.5 mJ∙cm⁻².
