[Estimation of endosonography method in the patients with moderate risk for choledocholithiasis].

Efficacy of endoultrasonography application in conditions of moderate risk for choledocholithiasis occurrence was estimated in 33 patients, in whom ultrasonography (US) did not reveal the common biliary duct concrements. Sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive and negative prognostic values of the method in suspicion for choledocholithiasis presence while US performance have had constituted 78.6, 94.

[Application of "reytoil" in prevention of atherosclerosis in diabetes patients].

The paper was conducted sonographic study of extracranial atherosclerotic vascular changes in patients with diabetes mellitus, and lipid profile study of the dynamics under the influence of treatment with the inclusion of the drug "Reytoil". Structural changes of the vascular wall correlates with changes of lipid profile in patients with diabetes. Structural assessment of intima-media complex (IMC) can be used as a marker for early diagnosis of vascular remodeling in patients with diabetes, as well as the criterion of efficiency of a treatment.

[Inhibition of the stellate cells using lisinopril and lovastatin for prophylaxis of pancreatic stump fibrosis after performance of distal resection in a model of chronic alcoholic pancreatitis].

Complex application of lisinopril (inhibitor of angiotensin-converting enzyme) and lovastatin (inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase) inhibits pancreatic fibrosis in the rats, having alcoholic chronic pancreatitis after distal pancreatic resection (DPR). Lisinopril and lovastatin were injected to the rats after DPR in dose 10 mg/kg during 3 weeks. Immunohistochemical markets, such as alpha-smooth-muscle actin (alpha-SMA), desmin, glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP), vimentin, and expression of matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1) as well as inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinase-2 (TIMP-2) were detected for estimation of therapeutic impact on activity and quantity of stellate pancreatic cells.

[About expediency of terminology and classification modification for lymphadenectomy in the surgery for pancreatic cancer].

While doing pancreatic gland resection for cancer the lymphadenectomy is performed in volume, recommended on a congress of pancreatologists in Castelfranco-Venetto (standard, radical, extended radical) or in manuals of Japanese investigators (D1, D2). These classifications have got several shortages: terminological inaccuracies, lack of information, concerning the borders of the vegetative neural plexuses dissection etc. The authors have proposed a modified terminology and classification of lymphadenectomy, in accordance to which four types of lymphadenectomy are delineated: D1p, D2p, D3p, corresponding to lymphatic collectors N1, N2, N3, as well as D4p--complete excision of lymphatic nodes in all three regions while total pancreatectomy performance.

[Liver involvement in early secondary syphilis].

Two patients with secondary new syphilis are described, abusing alcohol, developing early syphilitic hepatitis. The manifestations of this condition are similar to those of viral hepatitis. This necessitates a thorough examination of the skin integument, visible mucosae, genitals and perianal area, and of the peripheral lymph nodes in the patients with suspected viral hepatitis, in order to timely detect a possible liver involvement in Treponema infection.
