Isolation of cytotoxic sesquiterpene lactones from the (Kovalevsk.) Kovalevsk.

The structures and anticancer effects of two sesquiterpene lactones, 1 ,10,3,4-diepoxyguai-5,6,7-11(13)-en-6,12-olide () and hanphyllin () isolated from the aerial part of (Kovalevsk.) Kovalevsk were investigated. The compound was isolated for the first time as a natural compound and its structure was investigated by HR-ESI-MS, IR and NMR techniques.
