Background: The use of the Ostial Flash balloon (Ostial Corporation) has received limited study in aorto-ostial chronic total occlusion (CTO) percutaneous coronary artery intervention (PCI).
Methods: The authors evaluated the outcomes of Ostial Flash balloon use in a large CTO-PCI registry (PROGRESS-CTO, NCT02061436).
Results: The Ostial Flash balloon was used in 54 of 907 aorto-ostial CTO PCIs in 905 patients (6.
Background: Proximal vessel tortuosity can hinder wiring and equipment delivery during chronic total occlusion (CTO) percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
Aims: We sought to examine the association of proximal vessel tortuosity with the short and long-term outcomes of patients undergoing CTO PCI.
Methods: We examined the association of proximal vessel tortuosity with clinical outcomes in patients who underwent CTO PCI at 50 US and non-US centers between 2012 and 2024.
Water-soluble nickel(II)-guanidine-based complexes successfully catalyzed the C-H chlorination of a series of hydrocarbons in the presence of NaOCl and acetic acid in water-chloroform (7 : 3, biphasic condition) at room temperature. Majorly chlorinated products (TON ∼680 for cyclohexane) were obtained. Furthermore, C-H bond bromination of cyclohexane, -hexane, and toluene was also carried out using generation of NaOBr.

We investigated the factors associated with the use of any radiation therapy (RT) and whether RT has a benefit to overall survival (OS) in patients receiving any systemic therapy and whether this benefit is the same if Chemotherapy (CT) or chemo-immunotherapy (CT-IO) is used.
Material/methods: The NCDB database was queried from years 2017-2019.
Objective: The diagnostic criteria of lymphatic vascular invasion have not been standardized. Our investigation assesses the factors associated with lymphatic vascular invasion positive tumors and the impact of lymphatic vascular invasion on overall survival for patients with non-small cell lung cancer undergoing (bi)lobectomy with an adequate node dissection.
Methods: The National Cancer Database was queried from the years 2010 to 2015 to find surgical patients who underwent lobectomy with at least 10 lymph nodes examined (adequate node dissection) and with known lymphatic vascular invasion status.
We conducted homogeneous nucleation experiments for dilute binary H2O-CO2 mixtures in Ar-N2 carrier gas with different CO2/H2O ratios at temperatures of 57 and 75 K and total pressures of ∼40 and 70 Pa, respectively. Direct experimental information on the number and type of molecules in the clusters and on the cluster number concentration is obtained by mass spectrometric detection of nucleating clusters that form in the uniform region of Laval expansions. Only homo-molecular water clusters are observed in the mass spectra.

Here, we examine hydrogen bonding in the HS dimer, in comparison with the well-studied water dimer, in unprecedented detail. We record a mass-selected IR spectrum of the HS dimer in superfluid helium nanodroplets.

Methods: We examined the performance of the individual J-CTO scores in a large multicenter registry.
Results: The CTO lesion location was as follows: right coronary artery (RCA) 3,805 (54%), left anterior descending artery (LAD) 2,303 (33%), and left circumflex (LCX) 935 (13%).
Dissection and re-entry techniques are essential to achieve safe and effective chronic total occlusion recanalization. Several studies have demonstrated similar outcomes following extraplaque stenting compared with intraplaque stenting. Dissection techniques most often involve the use of knuckled wires to progress within and beyond the chronic total occlusion segment.

We compared intravascular lithotripsy (IVL) with rotational atherectomy (RA) for lesion preparation in patients who underwent CTO PCI across 50 US and non-US centers from 2019 to 2024. Of 15,690 patients who underwent CTO PCI during the study period, 436 (2.

Based on DFT calculations on the B3LYP-D3/6-311++G(d,p) level of theory, we were able to assign the experimentally observed O-D stretching bands to heterodimer and heterotrimer clusters. Since no bands of the S-H-bound conformer HSH···OH could be observed, we were able to determine the O-H-bound conformer HOH···SH to be the global minimum structure.

Pfizer/BioNTech (BNT162b2) is a messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccine that is highly effective in preventing the most severe outcomes of COVID-19 infection. Nucleoside-modified severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) mRNA vaccines induce effective stimulation of T follicular helper (TFH) cells, leading to a robust germinal center B cell response. Side effects from the BNT162b2 vaccination, including significant lymphadenopathy, have been reported previously.

We examined 11 491 chronic total occlusion (CTO) percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) that were performed at 41 US and non-US centers between 2012 and 2023 in the PROGRESS-CTO Registry. Patients on ranolazine at baseline had more comorbidities, more complex lesions, lower procedural and technical success (based on univariable but not multivariable analysis), and higher incidence of major adverse cardiac events (MACE) (on both univariable and multivariable analysis).

Aim: To assess the validity of the CHIP score in chronic total occlusion (CTO) percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
Methods: We evaluated the performance of the CHIP score on 8341 CTO PCIs from the Prospective Global Registry for the Study of Chronic Total Occlusion Intervention (PROGRESS-CTO) performed at 44 centers between 2012 and 2023.
Background: There is limited data on retrograde chronic total occlusion (CTO) percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) via ipsilateral epicardial collaterals (IEC).
Aims: To compare the clinical and angiographic characteristics, and outcomes of retrograde CTO PCI via IEC versus other collaterals in a large multicenter registry.
Methods: Observational cohort study from the Prospective Global registry for the study of Chronic Total Occlusion Intervention (PROGRESS-CTO).
