Lung cancer is a leading global cause of mortality, with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) accounting for a significant portion of cases. Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have transformed NSCLC treatment; however, many patients remain unresponsive. ICI resistance in NSCLC and its association with cellular plasticity, epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), enhanced adaptability, invasiveness, and resistance is largely influenced by epigenetic changes, signaling pathways, tumor microenvironment, and associated immune cells, fibroblasts, and cytokines.

Introduction: South Asia is of notable importance in terms of the prevalence and incidence of endemic zoonoses, as well as its role as a focal point for emerging zoonotic diseases.
Inclusion Criteria: All populations residing in the 8 South Asian countries, irrespective of age/gender, will be considered.
Safflower ( L.) is a valuable oil crop due to its bioactive ingredients and high linoleic acid content, which contribute to its antioxidant properties and potential for preventing atherosclerosis. Current research on safflower focuses on understanding the biosynthesis of seed oil through omics strategies, yet there is a lack of comprehensive knowledge of the dynamic changes in lipids and the regulatory mechanisms during seed development.

The Community Mobilisation and Community Incentivisation (CoMIC) trial was designed to evaluate a customised community mobilisation and incentivisation strategy for improving coverage of evidence-based interventions for child health in Pakistan.
Methods: CoMIC was a three-arm cluster-randomised, controlled trial in rural areas of Pakistan.
Natural coumarins and isocoumarins show significant therapeutic potential against cancer in preclinical studies by targeting multiple pathways and processes. These compounds influence several critical cellular processes, such as apoptosis, autophagy, and cell cycle regulation, which are pivotal in cancer development and progression. Their capability to target multiple signalling pathways provides a strategic advantage over single-target therapies, which are often limited by drug resistance.

Objectives: The aim of this study is to understand the path for establishing digital health technologies-health technology assessment (DHT-HTA) in India.
Methods: A rapid review of HTA and DHT frameworks on PubMed (MEDLINE) and Google Scholar was conducted to identify DHT-HTA guidelines, and HTA processes in India. MS-Excel template was created with key domains for assessing DHT in resource-constrained settings based on studies and reports identified.
Albumin-coated gold nanoparticles display potential biomedical applications, including cancer research, infection treatment, and wound healing; however, elucidating their interaction with normal cells remains an area with limited exploration. In this study, gold nanorods (GNR) were prepared and coated with bovine serum albumin (BSA) to produce GNR-BSA. The functionalized nanoparticles were characterized based on their optical absorption spectra, morphology, surface charge, and quantity of attached protein.

Introduction: Tobacco consumption has been proven to be associated with a huge epidemiological, humanistic, and economic burden. National and international organizations are making concerted efforts to control tobacco use.
Approximately five billion people do not have access to necessary surgical treatment globally and up to 85% of children in LMICs are affected with conditions requiring surgical care by the age of 15 years. It is crucial to identify common surgical conditions in children in Pakistan to inform healthcare professionals and policymakers for effective resource allocation. This representative cross-sectional household survey conducted on children aged 5-10 years assessed existing surgical diseases and healthcare-seeking behaviors in the two largest provinces (Sindh and Punjab) of Pakistan.

The plant growth regulator 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP) is an important component of plant nutrient medium with tendency to accelerate physiological, biochemical and molecular processes in woody plants such as olive. To date, limited knowledge is available on the role of BAP in mediating physiological, biochemical and genetic activities in olives under conditions.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFAdiponectin plays key roles in energy metabolism and ameliorates inflammation, oxidative stress, and mitochondrial dysfunction via its primary receptors, adiponectin receptors -1 and 2 (AdipoR1 and AdipoR2). Systemic depletion of adiponectin causes various metabolic disorders, including MASLD; however adiponectin supplementation is not yet achievable owing to its large size and oligomerization-associated complexities. Small-molecule AdipoR agonists, thus, may provide viable therapeutic options against metabolic disorders.

In spite of international attempts to promote human rights in the context of health, a significant portion of India's indigenous population continues to have a limited understanding of these rights.
Objective: This study aims to analyze tribal people's attitudes towards human rights in health care.
Objective: Migrants and refugees are at a disadvantage in accessing basic necessities. The objective of this study is to assess the inequity in access, needs and determinants of COVID-19 vaccination among refugees and migrant populations in Pakistan.
Design: We conducted a mixed-method study comprising a cross-sectional survey and a qualitative study.
Background: Tribes are the most socially excluded group in the nation due to their restricted access to healthcare. There are little data on the real burden and distribution of illnesses among tribes. The present study determines the types and patterns of sickness among tribal populations in West Bengal.

By using chiral isothiourea Lewis base catalysts a broad variety of differently substituted products could be obtained in yields of around 50 % over both steps with high levels of enantioselectivities, albeit low diastereoselectivities only.
