Introduction: Posterior shoulder dislocation with a reverse Hill-Sachs lesion is a rare and complex injury, requiring specialized treatment due to the difficulty in diagnosis, reduction, and addressing both sides of the pathology to reduce the potential for recurrent dislocation.

Purpose: To evaluate the clinical and functional outcomes of closed reduction and arthroscopic McLaughlin procedure with posterior labral repair in patients with neglected locked posterior shoulder dislocation for less than 12 weeks.

Methods: A prospective study was conducted at university hospitals, managing 15 patients with neglected locked posterior shoulder dislocation for less than 12 weeks and concomitant engaging reverse Hill-Sachs lesions of less than 40% of the humeral articular surface.

The proposed controller combines probabilistic processing with a Takagi-Sugeno-Kang fuzzy neural system to proficiently address stochastic uncertainties in controlled systems. The stability of the controlled system is ensured through the utilization of Lyapunov function to adjust the controller parameters.

Topical insulin in neurotrophic keratopathy after diabetic vitrectomy.

To assess the efficacy and safety of topical insulin (TI) for treating neurotrophic keratopathy (NK) within one-month post-diabetic vitrectomy (DV) compared to conventional non-invasive measures, we conducted this retrospective case-control study including all eyes that developed acute NK (stages 2 and 3) following DV between October 2020 and June 2023. The control group included NK cases managed with preservative-free lubricant eye drops and prophylactic topical antibiotics. In contrast, the study group included NK cases treated with TI [1 unit per drop] four times daily, in addition to the previously mentioned treatment.

In this independent study, we evaluated glycemic parameters and PROs over one year of continuous use of Medtronic's 670G HCL in real-world clinical practice.

Debulking corneal biopsy with tectonic amniotic membrane transplantation in refractory clinically presumed fungal keratitis.

The treatment of fungal keratitis (FK) is challenging due to the subacute indolent course, and initial misdiagnosis. In this retrospective case series, we highlight both the diagnostic and therapeutic roles of corneal biopsy together with amniotic membrane transplantation (AMT) in patients with refractory clinically presumed FK. Debulking biopsy and tectonic AMT were performed during the initial presentation.

Introduction: In this study, we evaluate the versatility of smartphone thermal imaging technology as a valuable intraoperative modality in different stages of perforator flap surgery aiming to minimize the complications and achieve the best postoperative outcome.

Patients And Methods: Thermography was performed in 20 perforator flaps in 20 patients at different surgical stages in three different ways to identify the most dominant perforator: first, by measuring the surface temperature of the skin; second, by using the dynamic infrared thermography technique; and third, by assessing the perfusion pattern when the flap was supplied by each perforator separately. Thermography was used to help in discarding the least perfused area of the flap.

Knowledge and attitudes toward evidence-based cariology and restorative dentistry among Egyptian dental practitioners: a cross-sectional survey.

Background: This is the first study to assess Egyptian dental practitioners' knowledge about conservative caries management approaches and investigate whether this knowledge transfers into clinical practice and the barriers to translating research into evidence-based practice.

Methods: A sample of dental practitioners was surveyed using an online questionnaire. Convenience and snowball sampling were used to collect data from February to June 2022.

This paper introduces a recurrent general type-2 Takagi-Sugeno-Kang fuzzy neural network (RGT2-TSKFNN) for the identification of nonlinear systems. In the proposed structure, the general type-2 fuzzy set (GT2FS) and a recurrent fuzzy neural network (RFNN) are combined to obviate the data uncertainties. The fuzzy firing strengths in the developed structure are returned to the network input as internal variables.

Introduction: Intensive lifestyle intervention (ILI) has significantly reduced incidence of diabetes and improved many cardiovascular disease risk factors. We evaluated long-term effects of ILI on cardiometabolic risk factors, and microvascular and macrovascular complications among patients with diabetes in real-world clinical practice.

Research Design And Methods: We evaluated 129 patients with diabetes and obesity enrolled in a 12-week translational model of ILI.
