Elephantiasis Nostras Verrucosa of the Lower Limb: A Case Report and Literature Review.

Elephantiasis nostras verrucosa (ENV) is a rare complication of chronic lymphedema, leading to progressive cutaneous hypertrophy and disfigured lower extremities. We present an unusual case of a 79-year-old man with ENV, who had an episode of erysipelas treated and cured with antibiotics. The patient presented with progressive painless lymphedema of the lower limb years ago, complicated with skin changes.

[Aberrant course of the aneurysmal internal carotid artery revealed by dysphonia and chronic cough : About a case].

Aberrant internal carotid artery is a rare birth defect. It occurs when the artery takes an abnormal course, the discovery of which is fortuitous but in the presence of dysphonia or chronic cough; this anomaly remains a diagnosis of exclusion. Cervicothoracic CT scan with injection of contrast product confirms the diagnosis.

The diagnosis of thoracobrachial outlet syndrome is one of the most discussed diagnoses. We report the case of a 33-year-old woman who presented to the consultation for pain, edema, and paresis of the left upper limb. Magnetic resonance imaging makes it possible to make the diagnosis, but it happens in certain situations that it reveals certain limits for the confirmation of this syndrome.

Migration of guiding catheter during placement of hemodialysis femoral catheter: case report.

Migration of guiding catheter during placement of hemodialysis femoral catheter is an unusual, early and rare mechanical complication. We report here the case of a 70-year-old man, admitted for severe renal failure, uremic syndrome and hyperkalemia, requiring an extra renal purification session which was complicated by a blockage of the femoral venous catheter guide during its removal. Such a complication highlights the importance of good anatomical knowledge, good monitoring by an experienced person during central venous catheterization, and the interest in using ultrasound guidance before and after catheter placement.
