[The characteristics of the helminth community in the Turkmen kulan (Equus hemionus)].

The helminth fauna of 24 kulans from Askaniya-Nova and Badkhyz was studied. 42 species of helminths were found, 34 of which belong to strongylids. The helminth species composition of kulan is similar to that of other species of horses.

Comparative study of two protein-coding regions of mitochondrial DNA from three endemic sculpins (Cottoidei) of Lake Baikal.

Two protein-coding regions (cytochrome b, ATPase 8, and part of ATPase 6) from mitochondrial DNA of Cottus kessleri, Cottocomephorus grewingki, and Cottocomephorus inermis--Baikalian endemic sculpins--were amplified via polymerase chain reaction, and sequenced. Two novel primers--L8352 (5'-TAAAGATTGGTGAC TCCCAACCACC) and H8773 (5'-GTAGGGAGT AAGCCCAATATGTT)--were used for the latter region. Phylogenies suggested by sequence divergence of the genes of ATPases appeared to be different from those computed from data for cytochrome b.

[High-frequency ventilation of the lungs during reconstructive surgery of the trachea and its bifurcation].

High-frequency jet ventilation was performed to 55 patients during reconstructive plastic surgery for tumour- or cicatrix-induced stenoses of the trachea and its bifurcation. Hemodynamic parameters and acid-base balance indexes confirm the efficacy of high-frequency jet ventilation.

[Surgical treatment of lung cancer after myocardial infarct].

The work deals with 70 patients with lung carcinoma and ischemic heart disease and with a history of myocardial infarction. The minimal period between the infarction and the operation was 4 months. The oldest patient was 72 years of age.

[The hepatic and peripheral blood flows during the drug treatment of acute cholecystitis].

The effect of medical treatment on the peripheral mechanism of centralization of circulation and state of hepatic blood flow was studied. It is shown that inclusion of adrenoblocking agents in the complex of medical treatment of 98 patients with uncomplicated cholecystitis resulted on the second day in normalization of the renal blood flow, improved the condition of patients due to normalization of the reaction of centralization of the circulation.

[Radiation pathomorphosis in single and intensive-concentrated preoperative irradiation of colon cancer].

Single (7.5 Gy) or intensive-concentrated (20 Gy at 5 daily fractions of 4 Gy each) preoperative irradiation was given to 42 colon cancer patients. Operation was performed not later than 24 h after single irradiation and 1-3 days after intensive-concentrated irradiation.

[Combined digital subtraction angiography and cholangiography in assessing the spread of the tumor process in pancreatobiliary cancer].

The paper is concerned with comparative assessment of the efficacy of digital subtraction angiography and routine angiography in assessing tumor spreading in pancreatobiliary cancer. A combined method of digital subtraction angiography and cholangiography was developed and performed in 41 patients with pancreatobiliary cancer permitting maximum information on the topical location and spreading of a tumor process. The clinical importance of the obtained results permitted recommending simultaneous digital subtraction angiography and cholangiography in patients with hepatobiliary cancer.

[The cytological study of the bile in the diagnosis of pancreatobiliary cancer].

Treatment of 46 patients with mechanical jaundice of the inflammatory-calculous and tumorous nature is described. In 26 patients with external drainage of the bile ducts the cytological investigation of 3-5 morning portions of bile was performed. The lavage fluid was studied in 4 cases.

[Little-studied parasitic strongylid larvae (Nematoda: Strongylidae) in horses].

Parasitic larvae of 30 strongylid species of horses out of 53 species known for the fauna of the USSR are identified. The paper presents descriptions of 7 earlier unknown phenons of parasitic late 4th-stage larvae, the specific belonging of which in not yet ascertained. The possibility of their identification is discussed.

[Clinico-roentgenologic diagnosis of disseminated and diffuse lung diseases].

The results of clinical and x-ray investigations of 398 patients with disseminated pulmonary lesions were analyzed. Two groups were identified: patients with interstitial type of lesions (101) and patients with focal type of lesions (297). Proceeding from roentgeno-morphological correlations, the authors presented specified roentgeno-semiotics of 10 nosological entities with the syndrome of pulmonary dissemination.

[Disorders and correction of lung functions in acute destructive cholecystitis].

On the day of operation for acute destructive cholecystitis functions of external ventilation prove to be disturbed due to deterioration of pulmonary blood flow (2-6 times) and ventilation (1.3-3 times). The degree of these disturbances are in direct dependence on the degree of the inflammatory process in gallbladder and time of preoperative observation.

[The state of general and regional hemodynamics in burn disease].

State of general and regional hemodynamics directly depends on the severity of the burn disease and on adequacy of the treatment performed. In conventional treatment of the burn disease, blood flow in the lungs and liver at all the periods of observation is reduced 3-1.5-fold.

[The combined treatment of lung cancer with one-time large-fraction preoperative irradiation].

A procedure of preoperative large single dose (7.5 Gy) irradiation of lung cancer was developed. Irradiation field included regional lymph node-bearing areas.
