Introduction: Ferns constitute the second largest group of vascular plants. Previous studies have shown that the diversity and composition of fern communities are influenced by resource availability and water stress, among other factors. However, little is known about the influence of these environmental factors on their biotic interactions, especially regarding the relationship between mycorrhizal fungi and ferns.

Case histories of patients with hemoblastosis admitted to a hospital for acute respiratory failure due to tumor-induced obstruction were retrospectively analyzed. The causes of obstruction, antitumor therapy, methods for provision of airway patency, and major critical syndromes were analyzed. Ten patients with life-threatening tumor-induced airway obstruction were hospitalized from 1995 to 2007.

Material And Methods: Combinations of antibodies against the following antigens were used: CD3/ CD19/CD45, CD5/CD19/CD38, CD19/CD10/CD23, CD4/CD8/CD3, kappa/lambda/CD19, CD25/CD20/FMC7; CD43/CD22/CD20; CD79a/Ki-67/CD3; cytoplasmic kappa/lambda. The analysis was made on flow fluorimeter FacsCalibur using computer program CellQuest (Beckton Dickenson, USA).
Aim: To define histological, cytological, computer-morphometric and immunophenotypical features of primary mediastinal B-cell lymphosarcoma.
Material And Method: The study enrolled 43 patients with primary mediastinal B-cell lymphosarcoma (PMBCL) treated in Hematological Research Center from 1994 to 2002. The examination included morphological and immunophenotypical tests, computer morphometry of the cells by histological sections.
Aim: To clarify the effect of cyclosporin A (CSA) on the apoptosis and proliferative activity of bone marrow cells in patients with aplastic syndromes by trepanobiopsy evidence.
Materials And Methods: The TUNEL immunohistochemical assay was used to study apoptosis of bone marrow cells in the histological specimens from 24 patients: 8 with refractory anemia (RA), 8 with acute small-proportion leukemias [RA with excessive blasts (RAEB) + RAEB in transformation (RAEBt)], 3 with acute non-lymphoblastic leukemia (ANLL), 5 with lymphogranulomatosis (LGM). Control apoptosis examination was made in 10 patients treated with CSA.
