Purpose: To evaluate and compare the perceived autonomy of people using wheeled mobility assistive devices (WMADs) in five community-based environments. To evaluate how personal, environmental, and assistive device-related factors impact the perceived autonomy of WMAD users.
Method: A study-specific questionnaire was used to evaluate perceived satisfaction of WMAD users with their autonomy in five environments: the Home Environment, Buildings Outside of the Home Environment, Outdoor Built Environment, Outdoor Natural Environment, and Transportation.
Background: Alveolar bone plays a vital role in mastication and supporting the teeth. The alveolar process is one of the most challenging regions of facial bone to reconstruct due to the deformity involves both hard and soft tissues. However, the etiology, gender, and age distribution vary between different regions, cultures, and countries.

Background: Phencyclidine (PCP, I) and its substituted analogs are significant and broadly abused psychotomimetic drugs that affect the central nervous system. They possess many pharmacological properties due to the presence of specific receptors in the brain.
Aims And Objective: Methyl group, despite strong electron-donating and characters of dipole moments, was placed on various positions of phenyl and amine moieties of phencyclidine along with the substitution of benzylamine, piperazine, and aniline derivatives in place of piperidine ring of phencyclidine to create novel compounds of the core with analgesic properties.
Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a persistent public health problem in the United States (U.S.) due to its increasing prevalence and its positive correlation with type-2 diabetes (T2DM) and cardiovascular disease (CVD).

Concern on the possible health hazards of RF-EMR has been growing in many countries because these RF-EMR pulses may be absorbed into the body cells, directly affecting them. There are some in vitro and in vivo animal studies related to the consequences of RF-EMR exposure from cell phones on embryo development and offspring.

Objective: To compare the effect of estradiol (E2) and sesame oil on oocyte and embryo quality between young and old mice.
Materials And Methods: Sixty old and young female mice were divided in to two groups (30 mice/group, grouped by age).
In the fertility preservation programs, ovarian cryopreservation is usually offered when the risk of premature ovarian failure is high (>30-50%) while the risk of ovarian metastasis is low. According to the guidelines, it must be done before the patient receives chemotherapy. A 22-year-old girl with acute lymphocytic leukemia was a candidate for ovarian cryopreservation after 6 months of chemotherapy.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAcute coronary syndrome (ACS) is a principal cause of mortality and morbidity worldwide. Recent studies have suggested poorer outcomes in ACS patients who have a concurrent diagnosis of schizophrenia as compared with those without. However, the degree of interplay between schizophrenia and ACS remains poorly understood.

Background: The few studies published on the outcomes of refractive error after ptosis surgery have been controversial.
Objectives: The relationship between immunity and trace elements levels is well known. We aimed to estimate the association of serum trace elements with severity and outcomes in the Coronavirus Disease-2019 (COVID-19) patients.
Methods: In this single-centered, prospective, observational study, we enrolled 114 patients admitted to severe intensive care units (ICUs) and corresponding 112 sex and aged-matched non-ICU ward patients.
Introduction: Diabetic retinopathy is one of the most common causes of blindness in work-aging adults and develops in one third of diabetic patients. Calcium dobesilate (CaD) treatment have protective effects on blood retinal barrier (BRB) and anti-oxidant as well as anti-inflammatory properties.
Objectives: To assess effects of CaD administration on retrobulbar blood flow and choroidal thickness in patients with diabetic retinopathy.

Background: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) has both intestinal and extraintestinal manifestations. Inflammatory bowel disease is a known risk factor for cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) in adults and children. The precise mechanism of the thrombotic event is unclear in IBD patients.

In this study, we evaluated the naringin capacity in chelating iron and preventing amyloid-beta plaque formation in the hippocampus of iron-overloaded mice. Thirty-five NMRI male mice (8-10 weeks old) were provided.

Approach And Results: We conducted a pragmatic randomized controlled trial (NCT02786537) to compare the effectiveness of DAAs for HCV genotype 1a or 1b on viral response, safety, tolerability, and medication nonadherence.
Depression is one of the most common mental health disorders and it is generally characterized by negative mood. Although electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is an effective treatment for depression, however, it can cause cognitive deficit. Hesperetin, an active ingredient in citrus peels, has antioxidant and neuroprotective properties.

We aimed to evaluate the association between oxidative stress markers and odds of having risk factor for stroke or developing stroke.

So, we compared the capability of pure zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO-NPs) and chitosan-ZnO bio-nanocomposites (CS-ZnO BNCs) for enhancing the radiosensitization of MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells (BCCs) in the 3D-MCTSs model. ZnO-NPs and CS-ZnO BNCs were synthesized by a facile co-precipitation method.

Approach And Results: Untreated participants in the North American Hepatitis B Research Network Adult Cohort Study were categorized by chronic hepatitis B (CHB) phases based on HBsAg and HBeAg status and HBV DNA and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels. HBV RNA and HBcrAg were measured (Abbott HBV pgRNA Research Assay and Fujirebio Lumipulse Immunoassay, respectively), and cross-sectional associations with conventional CHB markers were tested.
Background: The rapid growth of Qatar in the last two decades has attracted a large influx of immigrant workers who mostly come from HEV-hyperendemic countries. Thus, we aim to investigate the prevalence of HEV among acute non-A-C hepatitis patients in Qatar; and to evaluate the performance of four dominant commercial serological assays for HEV diagnosis.
Methods: 259 patients with non-A-C hepatitis were tested using the Wantai HEV-IgM, HEV-IgG, HEV-Ag ELISA kits, and the MP Biomedical HEV-Total Ab ELISA kit.
Purpose: Pseudoexfoliation syndrome (PXF) is an age-related condition, characterized by deposition of whitish flake-shaped materials in the anterior segment of the eye. Although it occurs all over the world, a considerable racial variation exists. According to the high frequency of PXF in Iran and the importance of prevention and early treatment, we evaluated the plasma level of iron, zinc, copper, and magnesium in patients with PXF.
