Fear of a new pandemic: perception and prediction of monkeypox among the middle east general population.

Background: Monkeypox is a zoonotic disease caused by the monkeypox virus, an Orthopox virus. The 2022 monkeypox outbreak provoked fear among the public. Public awareness about the disease could be an important factor in its control.
