We report the efficacy and safety of a repeated CXL for significant progression of keratoconus after a single CXL procedure.

Utilization of functional MRI in the diagnosis and management of cervical cancer.

Introduction: Imaging is integral part of cervical cancer management. Currently, MRI is used for staging, follow up and image guided adaptive brachytherapy. The ongoing IQ-EMBRACE sub-study is evaluating the use of MRI for functional imaging to aid in the assessment of hypoxia, metabolism, hemodynamics and tissue structure.

Background: Esophageal adenocarcinoma is a lethal disease. For locally advanced patients, neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy followed by surgery is the standard of care. Risk stratification relies heavily on clinicopathologic features, particularly pathologic response, which is inadequate, therefore establishing the need for new and reliable biomarkers for risk stratification.

Validation of PLASMIC score in a cohort of patients with suspected thrombotic microangiopathy in an academic medical centre.

Background: The PLASMIC score is a rapid and inexpensive clinical assessment tool for predicting severe ADAMTS13 deficiency (<10% activity) in patients with suspected thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP). The score includes 7 parameters: absence of active cancer, patient not having received stem cell transplant or organ transplant, platelet count <30×10/L, hemolysis, mean corpuscular volume <90 fl, International Normalized Ratio <1.5, and serum creatinine <2 mg/dL.

Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 100 children with functional constipation (FC) referred to a single hospital between 2018 and 2019 were enrolled.

Aim: The current study aimed to assess and compare the level of knowledge and attitude towards mental illness between secondary school students and their teachers in Oman.

Methods: An online survey was carried out to collect data from 400 students and 411 teachers about their knowledge and attitudes toward people with mental illness. Two independent case studies about depression and schizophrenia were also tested.

Study Objectives: To explore the association of continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) adherence with clinical outcomes in patients with type 2 diabetes and obstructive sleep apnea in a real-world setting.

Methods: This was a retrospective study of patients with type 2 diabetes diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea between 2010 and 2017. CPAP adherence (usage for ≥ 4 h/night for ≥ 70% of nights) was determined from the first CPAP report following the polysomnography.

Prosthetic Rehabilitation of a Patient Diagnosed With Sarcoidosis Using Dental Implants: A Clinical Case Report.

Patients with sarcoidosis may develop periodontitis as a manifestation of systemic disease and are therefore at increased risk of tooth loss. These patients are likely to want fixed dental prostheses, which may need to be supported by dental implants.
