Objectives: Accurately predicting short-term MACE (major adverse cardiac events) following primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) remains a clinical challenge. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of four established risk scores in predicting short-term MACE after primary PCI.
Design: Prospective observational study.
Introduction: Color stability is one of the important criteria for the selection of composite during its service. Preheating of composite is performed to improve its handling characteristics. The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of preheating in two nanohybrid composite resins.

The lack of effective treatments to preserve vision in diabetic patients remains a significant challenge. A previous study from our laboratory demonstrated that 12-week treatment with MDL 72527, a pharmacological inhibitor of spermine oxidase (SMOX, a critical regulator of polyamine metabolism), reduced neurodegeneration in diabetic mice.

Background: The main objective of this study was to evaluate the antimicrobial therapy knowledge, attitudes, and practices of primary care physicians in the West Bank and Gaza.
Methods: Between January and April 2021, this cross-sectional survey was conducted. A link to the online survey was sent confidential email lists to 336 primary care physicians who treated patients in Ministry of Health clinics.
Background: Rectocele is defined as a defect in the rectovaginal septum, causing symptoms like obstructed defecation syndrome (ODS), vaginal bulging, etc. Once the rectocele is larger than 3 cm and/or symptomatic, surgery should be considered. The surgical approach can be either transvaginal, transanal or transperineal.

Methods: We analyzed data of monogenic patients with syndromic CIDs adopted from the Iranian inborn errors of immunity registry up to January 2022.
Purpose: Keratoconus is a progressive visually impairing disorder. Despite the beneficial effects of epithelial off-crosslinking (CXL) on the stabilization of keratoconus, progression may still occur. We report the efficacy and safety of a repeated CXL for significant progression of keratoconus after a single CXL procedure.

The ongoing IQ-EMBRACE sub-study is evaluating the use of MRI for functional imaging to aid in the assessment of hypoxia, metabolism, hemodynamics and tissue structure.

Risk stratification relies heavily on clinicopathologic features, particularly pathologic response, which is inadequate, therefore establishing the need for new and reliable biomarkers for risk stratification.

At diagnosis, patients can with different manifestations according to the disease phenotype, patient's age, and lifestyle. However, most patients pursue medical care because of the clinical symptoms of PCOS, such as hyperandrogenism, menstrual irregularities and infertility.

Trusting others, however, can have substantial negative effects on mental health, such as the development of depression. Despite significant progress in understanding the neurobiology of trust, whether the neuroanatomy of trust is linked with depression vulnerability remains unknown.

The score includes 7 parameters: absence of active cancer, patient not having received stem cell transplant or organ transplant, platelet count <30×10/L, hemolysis, mean corpuscular volume <90 fl, International Normalized Ratio <1.5, and serum creatinine <2 mg/dL.

Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 100 children with functional constipation (FC) referred to a single hospital between 2018 and 2019 were enrolled.
Aim: The current study aimed to assess and compare the level of knowledge and attitude towards mental illness between secondary school students and their teachers in Oman.
Methods: An online survey was carried out to collect data from 400 students and 411 teachers about their knowledge and attitudes toward people with mental illness. Two independent case studies about depression and schizophrenia were also tested.
Purpose: Meningiomas are tumors originating from arachnoid cap cells on the surface of the brain or spinal cord. Treatment differs by grade but can consist of observation, surgery, radiation therapy or both. We utilized the National Cancer Database (NCDB) to compare trends in the use stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and external beam radiation therapy (EBRT) in the management of meningioma.

However, point-of-care (POC) assays are frequently used in emergency departments (EDs) to reduce turnaround time and length of stay. This study aimed to compare the results of POC-cTnI testing with those of the gold standard, automated central laboratory testing of troponin (i.

Background: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a major cause of maternal, fetal, and neonatal morbidities. Our objective was to estimate the effect of both pre-pregnancy and gestational DM on the growth parameters of newborns in the Qatari population.
Methods: In this population-based cohort study, we compared the data of neonates born to Qatari women with both pre-pregnancy and gestational diabetes mellitus in 2017 with neonates of healthy non-diabetic Qatari women.
Study Objectives: To explore the association of continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) adherence with clinical outcomes in patients with type 2 diabetes and obstructive sleep apnea in a real-world setting.
Methods: This was a retrospective study of patients with type 2 diabetes diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea between 2010 and 2017. CPAP adherence (usage for ≥ 4 h/night for ≥ 70% of nights) was determined from the first CPAP report following the polysomnography.
Introduction: Tonsillectomy is a painful operation and some studies have suggested that preoperative non-pharmacologic preparations may decrease postoperative pain. In this randomized clinical trial study, we decided to determine which is more effective in the post-tonsillectomy pain; an informative booklet or a costly, time consuming, sophisticated, and multi-component preparation program.
Materials And Methods: Patients were randomly assigned into two groups.
Aims: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a widespread chronic reproductive disorder that is associated with metabolic disturbances. Traditionally, the marjoram plant is well-known to restore hormonal balance and regulate the menstrual cycle. We aimed to investigate the ameliorative effects of marjoram extract on hormonal profiles, body and ovaries weight, insulin sensitivity, inflammation, and oxidative stress in a rat model of PCOS.

Background: Low back pain (LBP) is considered the most common work-related musculoskeletal disorder among female healthcare workers. The aim of this study is to compare the prevalence of LBP and non-ergonomic risk factors between female nurses, office workers, and patient transporters, and the effect of pain on job performance.
Methods: Based on semi-structured interviews, we conducted a cross-sectional study on Jordanian female hospital workers between January and July, 2017.
No previously published studies have reported on the placement and restoration of dental implants in a patient diagnosed with sarcoidosis. Patients with sarcoidosis may develop periodontitis as a manifestation of systemic disease and are therefore at increased risk of tooth loss. These patients are likely to want fixed dental prostheses, which may need to be supported by dental implants.
