Apparent inflammatory-degenerative type ultrastructural alterations have been found to be precent in the gastric and duodenal mucous coat in the zone of perforating ulcer. The above alterations are noted to persist by day 10 in these postsurgical patients having been administered conventional treatments.

The immunity indexes in patients constitute the prognostic test for estimation of the disease course severity and postoperative therapy efficacy. In addition to routine tests, ultrasonography, computed tomography and laparoscopy were used to diagnose difficult cases. The optimum surgical aids are chosen by taking into account the interval between the onset of perforation and admission, a history of peptic ulcerous, the pattern of peritonitis, age, comorbidity, and surgical findings.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFExperiments on rat model of stress-induced gastric ulcers revealed marked circulatory disturbances in ulcerated gastric mucosa associated with arteriolar spasm and venous congestion and leading to perivascular edema, diapedesis of erythrocytes, and microhemorrhages. These changes were most pronounced on day 1 after ulcer modeling and progressively decreased during healing (day 14-21). On day 3, arterial hyperemia developed against the background of venous congestion, which was probably related to progressive repair.
