A Common Disease, an Uncommon Location: Left Ventricle Papillary Fibroelastoma.

Cardiac papillary fibroelastoma (PFE) is a rare benign cardiac tumor, usually associated with cardiac valves. Cases of non-valvular, left ventricular (LV) cavity PFE are extremely rare. We report the case of a 75-year-old man with a history of exertional chest pain.

COVID-19-Associated Thrombotic Complication: Is It Pulmonary Embolism or In Situ Thrombosis?

Objectives: Acute pulmonary embolism is a protentional fatal complication of COVID-19. The aim of this study is to investigate whether pulmonary embolism is due to thrombus migration from the venous circulation to the pulmonary arteries or due to local thrombus formation secondary to local inflammation. This was determined by looking at the distribution of pulmonary embolism in relation to lung parenchymal changes in patients with COVID-19 pneumonia.

Right Ventricular Outflow Tract Intimal Sarcoma Extending into the Main Pulmonary Artery: A Case Report.

Intimal sarcomas are rare malignant mesenchymal tumors that arise in the large arteries and rarely in the heart. Herein, we report the case of a 55-year-old man who was referred for further assessment of a right ventricular outflow tract mass. Assessment with cardiac magnetic resonance imaging revealed an enhancing mobile mass arising within the right ventricular outflow tract and extending into the main pulmonary artery.

A Rare Case of Heterotopic Ossification of the Patella Tendon in an Adolescent Presenting with Tendon Rupture.

Heterotopic ossification is the abnormal formation of mature, lamellar bone in nonosseous tissue such as tendons, ligaments, muscles, and soft tissue. We discuss a rare case of a young adolescent with patellar tendon rupture postheterotopic ossification. A 13-year-old male presented to us with knee pain and inability to extend for 6 weeks following trivial trauma.
