Background: The lack of complete protection against leishmaniasis and the challenges of anti-leishmaniasis drug treatment have made the treatment process more difficult. This study aimed to develop a new strategy for preparing a vaccine against cutaneous leishmaniasis using some of the antigenic proteins of the parasite.
Methods: This study was carried out in 2022 at Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz, Ahvaz, Iran.

This framework is composed of two main unique modules to design a robotic system including (i) a Patient-Specific Biomechanics-aware Trajectory Selection Module used to analyze the stress and strain distribution along an implanted pedicle screw in a generic drilling trajectory (linear and/or curved) and obtain an optimal trajectory; and (ii) a complementary semi-autonomous robotic drilling module that consists of a novel Concentric Tube Steerable Drilling Robot (CT-SDR) integrated with a seven degree-of-freedom robotic manipulator. Methods: Two hundred seventy experimental runs were performed, and the optimal values of the five influential factors in the DES-SDME method were determined. The design of the study was based on one factor at a time and the peak area of high-performance liquid chromatography was used as a benchmark for comparing analysis results.
Background: Fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva (FOP) as a rare and heritable disorder with the infrequent genetic transmission of the condition is a catastrophic disorder of heterotopic ossification (HO) and a cause of extraskeletal bone formation in humans. Given the lack of effective treatment for this disease, the important point is to avoid aggravating factors such as bone biopsy, surgery, and intramuscular injection.
Case Presentation: In this report, we present a 52-year-old female patient, Kurdish ethnic, suspected to FOP who had a surgical intervention on the second toe of the right foot, which subsequently, it caused further deterioration of the disease in the person including necrosis and amputation of the distal phalanx of the second toe.
Objectives: This study employed computational fluid dynamics (CFD), physiologically based toxicokinetics (PBTK), and statistical modeling to reconstruct exposure to methylene diphenyl-4,4'-diisocyanate (MDI) aerosol. By utilizing a validated CFD model, human respiratory deposition of MDI aerosol in different workload conditions was investigated, while a PBTK model was calibrated using experimental rat data. Despite the high cost and attributable morbidity and mortality of MV patients with pneumonia which approaches 40%, sampling of the distal lung in MV patients suffering from range of lung diseases such as Covid-19 is not standardised, lacks reproducibility and requires expert operators. We propose a robotic bronchoscope that enables repeatable sampling and guidance to distal lung pathologies by overcoming significant challenges that are encountered whilst performing bronchoscopy in MV patients, namely, limited dexterity, large size of the bronchoscope obstructing ventilation, and poor anatomical registration.
