Cell factors of nonspecific immunity were estimated in 99 patients with different stages of melanoblastoma by delayed hypersensitivity skin test to tuberculin and DNCB (2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene). The skin test to DNCB is found to correlate with the clinical manifestations of the disease, while the skin test to tuberculin is not related with the degree of tumor spread. It is considered not rational to use the test concerned to define one of the immune cell factors in patients with melanoblastoma during the tumor progression.

Favourable results of the treatment of skin melanoblastoma by means of pulse laser radiation are reported in 34 patients and of melanoblastoma skin metastasis in 13 patients. The follow-up lasted up to 5 years. There were no cases of local relapse.

To estimate the diagnostic value of determination of one of polyamines (spermidine) in the urine the authors examined 58 patients with skin melanoblastomas of different localization and 10 healthy persons. It was found that in 16 of 25 patients having only primary tumor, in all 9 patients having primary tumor with metastases in regional lymph nodes, and also in 14 of 20 patients, who after previous therapy developed recurrence or metastases in regional lymph nodes, spermidine excretion exceeded its normal level. In three patients, subjected previously to radical treatment and considered as being clinically recovered, normal spermidine level was excreted.

The level of humoral antitumor cytotoxins in sera of malignant melanoma patients has been studied by means of a cytotoxic test in vitro. The authors have shown a cytotoxic effect of sera of most patients on autochthonous tumor cells of melanoma. Hela cells were used as a control cell line.

The work was undertaken to reveal the opportunities of cytological investigations of smears for recognition of the skin melanoblastoma histostructure. Three variants of smear cytograms corresponding to histological types of melanoblastomas were differentiated: epithelioid-cellular, spindle-cell and mixed. In 167 patients press-smears from the tumor surface were studied cytologically with subsequent pathomorphological assay of radically removed neoplasms.
