Background: Reliable gender-sensitive normative data is needed to facilitate mental health research and clinical utility of commonly used symptoms scales. This study establishes Danish gender-stratified norms for the 53-item and 18-item Brief Symptom Inventory (BSI-53, BSI-18), proposed attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) symptomatology scales from the BSI-53, and the 10-item Symptom Checklist (SCL-10). This study also examines gender-differences in symptom reporting of the ADHD and SCL-10 scales, and assesses potential bias in recent SCL-10 norms.

Material And Methods: Patients with NPC diagnosed in Denmark from 2000 to 2018 were identified in the Danish Head and Neck Cancer Study Group (DAHANCA) database.
Aims: In patients with locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer (LA-NSCLC), curative-intent radiotherapy (RT) or chemoradiotherapy (CRT) is associated with considerable toxicity, and approximately half of the patients die within two years. A better understanding of early mortality is needed to improve patient selection and guide supportive interventions. In this population-based, nationwide cohort study, we investigated the incidence, temporal distribution, and risk factors of early mortality.

The PRecIsion MEdicine based on kidney TIssue Molecular interrogation in diabetic nEphropathy (PRIMETIME) 1 cohort is designed to study clinical characteristics, diagnostic accuracy and prognostic markers in a population with diabetes and kidney disease classified by biopsy.
Participants: This retrospective Danish nationwide cohort includes 2586 individuals with diabetes who have undergone a kidney biopsy between the 1980s and 2022.
By enabling the dissemination and storage of information, paper has been central to human culture for more than a millennium. Its use is, however, associated with a common injury: the paper cut. Surprisingly, the physics underpinning a flexible sheet of paper slicing into soft tissues remains unresolved.

Methods: Kidney biopsy reports from 1 January 1998 to 31 December 2018 were randomly extracted from the Danish National Patobank, using SNOMED codes. A 5% sample was selected, and nephrologists assessed the corresponding medical records, assigning each case the applied clinical diagnoses.
Fluid flow networks are ubiquitous and can be found in a broad range of contexts, from human-made systems such as water supply networks to living systems like animal and plant vasculature. In many cases, the elements forming these networks exhibit a highly non-linear pressure-flow relationship. Although we understand how these elements work individually, their collective behavior remains poorly understood.

Yet, the underlying causes of most of these malformations remain largely unknown. ADGRA3 (GPR125) is involved in WNT signaling and planar cell polarity, mechanisms vital to female reproductive tract development.

In this issue of , Sytniczuk, Kajetanowicz, and Grela report sterically tuned Cyclic(Alkyl)(Amino)Carbene (CAAC) ligands to protect the requisite Ru-methylidene ([Ru]=CH) intermediate present during ethenolysis of renewable fatty acid methyl esters (FAME). Surprising structural characteristics of the Ru-CAAC complexes resulted in TON up to 740,000 and sub-ppm catalyst loadings.

The effect of this disturbance on soils in arid ecosystems may differ from other ecosystems due to water limitation. In this study, we conducted a density fractionation on soils previously harvested from the Nevada Desert FACE Facility (NDFF) to understand how elevated atmospheric CO (eCO ) affects SOM stability.

The current study aims to replicate the reported association of EEG abnormality and treatment outcomes in an open-label trial of escitalopram for major depressive disorder (MDD) and explore its relationship to mood and cognition. Pretreatment, 6 min eyes-closed resting-state 256-channel EEG was recorded in 91 patients with MDD (age 18-57) who were treated with 10-20 mg escitalopram for 12 weeks; patients could switch to duloxetine after four weeks.

A kidney biopsy is necessary to make the definitive diagnosis of DN. However, there is no consensus on when to perform a kidney biopsy in individuals with diabetes and kidney disease.

This constrains the efficiency of filtration systems in which both selectivity and permeability are valued. Previous studies have demonstrated that interactions between the diffusing species and solid boundaries can enhance or reduce particle transport relative to bulk conditions.

We investigated the validity of self-reported medical conditions and medicine use from Danish participants in the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe.
Methods: Self-reported health data were linked at individual level with the National Patient Registry and the Danish National Prescription Registry (n = 5572).
Controlling fluid flow from an unsteady source is a challenging problem that is relevant in both living and man-made systems. Animals have evolved various autoregulatory mechanisms to maintain homeostasis in vital organs. This keeps the influx of nutrients essentially constant and independent of the perfusion pressure.

Stemming from ethylene's role as a critical plant hormone, there has been significant effort to develop selective and sensitive molecular sensors for ethylene. Late transition metal complexes have played an important role in detection strategies due to ethylene's lack of structural complexity and limited reactivity.

This study, therefore, aimed to investigate whether near surface water content of the football field, influenced the risk of traumatic injuries during a youth football tournament.
Methods: At Dana Cup, an annual international youth football tournament in Denmark, all injuries were registered and classified at the on-site emergency department over 7 years.
The glymphatic system of cerebrospinal fluid transport through the perivascular spaces of the brain has been implicated in metabolic waste clearance, neurodegenerative diseases and in acute neurological disorders such as stroke and cardiac arrest. In other biological low-pressure fluid pathways such as in veins and the peripheral lymphatic system, valves play an important role in ensuring the flow direction. Though fluid pressure is low in the glymphatic system and directed bulk flow has been measured in pial and penetrating perivascular spaces, no valves have yet been identified.

The diagnosis is based on clinical characteristics such as persistently elevated albuminuria, hypertension and decline in kidney function, although this definition is not specific to kidney disease caused by diabetes. The only way to establish an accurate diagnosis-diabetic nephropathy-is by performing a kidney biopsy.

Releasing the force evoked significantly faster calcium waves. Slow waves were also triggered by increased turgor and fast waves by turgor drops in pressure probe tests.

Using a mouse model lacking Adgra3 (Adgra3 ), we show that 55% of the male mice are infertile from puberty despite having normal spermatogenesis and epididymal sperm count. Instead, male mice lacking Adgra3 exhibited decreased estrogen receptor alpha expression and transient dilation of the epididymis.
