Expectation of cooperation (hereafter EOC) plays an important role in social dilemmas. In the present study, participant dyads performed an improved prisoner's dilemma game, with their prefrontal cortex and inferior frontal gyrus recorded via the functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) hyperscanning technique.
