Enriching and isolating circulating tumor cells (CTCs) have attracted significant interest due to their important role in early cancer diagnosis and prognosis, allowing for minimally invasive approaches and providing vital information about metastasis at the cellular level. This review comprehensively summarizes the recent developments in microfluidic devices for CTC enrichment and isolation. The advantages and limitations of several microfluidic devices are discussed, and the design specifications of microfluidic devices for CTC enrichment are highlighted.

Brain injury is the leading cause of death and disability in survivors of cardiac arrest, where neuroinflammation triggered by infiltrating macrophages plays a pivotal role. Here, we seek to elucidate the origin of macrophages infiltrating the brain and their mechanism of action after cardiac arrest/cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CA/CPR). Ferroelectric optoelectronic memories, capable of integrating sensing, computing, and storage functionalities, hold significant potential in the fields of artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things. In this study, a nonvolatile p-GaN/ZnGaO/BaTiO/n-ITO ferroelectric optoelectronic memory is demonstrated. By combining with wide-bandgap semiconductors ZnGaO and GaN, known for their excellent optoelectronic properties, the device exhibits superior self-powered ultraviolet photodetection performance.

Dysregulation of the transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) signaling pathway regulates cancer stem cells (CSCs) and drug sensitivity, whereas it remains largely unknown how feedback regulatory mechanisms are hijacked to fuel drug-resistant CSCs. Through a genome-wide CRISPR activation screen utilizing stem-like drug-resistant properties as a readout, the TGF-β receptor-associated binding protein 1 (TGFBRAP1) is identified as a TGF-β-inducible positive feedback regulator that governs sensitivity to tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) and promotes liver cancer stemness. By interacting with and stabilizing the TGF-β receptor type 1 (TGFBR1), TGFBRAP1 plays an important role in potentiating TGF-β signaling.

A lightfield camera prototype is constructed by directly coupling a liquid-crystal (LC) microlens array with an arrayed photosensitive sensor for performing a LC-guided refocusing-rendering imaging attached by computing disparity map and extracting featured contours of targets. The palatability of cooked rice is susceptible to the flavor and effective detection of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) can avoid deterioration and improve the taste quality. Herein, hierarchical antimony tungstate (SbWO) microspheres are synthesized through a solvothermal process and the effect of solvothermal temperature on the room temperature gas-sensing properties of gas sensors is investigated. Outstanding sensitivity towards VOC biomarkers (nonanal, 1-octanol, geranyl acetone and 2-pentylfuran) in cooked rice is achieved and the sensors exhibit remarkable stability and reproducibility, which are contributed to the formation of the hierarchical microsphere structure, larger specific surface area, narrower band gap and increased oxygen vacancy content.
