Purpose: To assess the association of serum vitamin D level and the live birth rate in women undergoing frozen embryo transfer (FET).
Methods: This is a retrospective cohort study involving 1489 infertile women who had frozen embryo transfer at two tertiary reproductive medicine centres from 2019 to 2021. Only the first frozen embryo transfer was included for women who had repeated transfers during the period.
Objective: To explore the role of local public health organisations in antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) surveillance.
Methods: A scoping review was conducted. Peer-reviewed and grey literature from countries within the organisation for economic co-operation and development was searched between 1999 and 2023 using the concepts of local public health, AMR and AMS.
Traditional etherification methods, although staples in synthetic chemistry, often fall short in the efficient construction of sterically hindered dialkyl ethers, especially under mild and practical conditions. Recent advances have attempted to address these limitations, typically relying on transition metal catalysts, external reductants, or harsh reaction conditions. Irradiation at 365 or 405 nm of a 150 μm-thick polymer film submerged in water causes the rapid appearance of a surface layer of bubbles. Methods: Results of two embryo rinsing methods (one-step vs sequential) and SCM collected on day 5 vs day 6 after retrieval were compared against trophectoderm (TE) biopsies as reference. Results from day 6 SCM in cycles fertilized by conventional insemination were compared with PGT-A using ICSI.
Liver fibrosis of different etiologies is a serious health problem worldwide. There is no effective therapy available for liver fibrosis except the removal of the underlying cause of injury or liver transplantation. Development of liver fibrosis is caused by fibrogenic myofibroblasts that are not present in the normal liver, but rather activate from liver resident mesenchymal cells in response to chronic toxic or cholestatic injury.
