  • Ultrasound guidance (USG) for arterial line placement was tested against traditional blind palpation (TBP) to see which method was more efficient for residents.
  • A total of 412 patients were involved in the study, with results showing that USG was significantly faster, needing less time (171 seconds) compared to TBP (243 seconds).
  • The USG method also required fewer attempts (1.78 vs. 2.48) and had a higher success rate (96% vs. 90%) for the residents performing the procedures.
