Background: Telemedicine provides a gateway to specialty care that, otherwise, patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) could have difficulty accessing. Studies have shown that telemedicine provides a valid alternative to in-person visits. There are limited data on the strengths and limitations of telemedicine from the perspective of MS providers.

In most of cases, pathogenesis of sialorrhea is not known. Due to the small number of patients involved in the studies it is difficult to get exact data.

Rinsing time was timed according to the measurements on how long it took to drink 200 or 500 ml milk. Rinsing with fluoridated milk for a total interval of 20 and 60 s, respectively, did not influence significantly the fluoride concentration of unstimulated centrifuged whole saliva 45 min later.

Resting salivary flow rate was measured as 1.09+/-0.

Methods: Out of 420 operations 89 (21%) were performed for pure protrusion, and 64 (15%) for mixed deformities, with asymmetric impression and protrusion present at the same time. Mixed deformities were limited to the parasternal area in 10 and extended to the entire anterior chest wall in 54 cases.
Bronchoplastic procedures involving the main carina are declared as central bronchoplasties. A nation-wide collection of these interventions performed between 1980 and 1993 is analysed. The study is on a total of 154 operations, that were 16 bifurcation resections and 14 stem bronchus resections without parenchyma sacrifice, 61 sleeve or wedge pneumonectomies and 63 tracheal sleeve or wedge right upper lobectomies or carina-plasties.

The salivary carbonic anhydrase activity was also elevated after combined treatment of bethanechol(+)-cimetidine. The similar action of the two H2-antagonists appears to suggest that their effect on salivation is connected probably with the cholinergic activity and it is concluded that the combination of bethanechol with these blockers may improve the esophageal clearance, an action that may be beneficial in the treatment of the gastroesophageal reflux disease.

They concluded, that CA1 is a high molecular weight (approximately 90 kD) membrane-bound glycoprotein and CA2 is a cytosolic isoenzyme with lower molecular weight (30 kD) comparing to CA1.

The colon was distended by a balloon inserted 10 cm below the orifice of the artificial anus. Each subject participated in three sessions on three consecutive weeks with several experimental tasks in each session.

This technique supported by the pull-through esophageal manometry, reveals and classifies the patients for either medical or surgical treatment. The comparison of the diagrams recorded before and after surgical repair, is a reliable guide in evaluating the efficacy of the anti-reflux procedure.

Out of these groups, 400 patients (318 and 82 respectively) underwent an open thoracotomy. Macroscopic operative findings were divided into 8 groups.
