Objectives: Contemporary studies assessing the importance of the systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) in older patients presenting with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) are scarce. This study investigated the impact and prognostic value of the SII regarding long-term mortality in older patients with ACS.
Methods: The study included 401 older patients aged 75 years and above admitted with ACS between May 2015 and December 2022.
Background: This multicenter study aimed to retrospectively evaluate the mid-term clinical outcomes of mini-crush (MCT) and nano-crush (NCT) techniques in patients with complex bifurcation lesions (CBLs).
Methods: The study comprised 431 patients [male: 318 (73.8%), mean age: 60.
Recent neuroimaging studies demonstrate a heterogeneity of timescales prevalent in the brain's ongoing spontaneous activity, labeled intrinsic neural timescales (INT). At the same time, neural timescales also reflect stimulus- or task-related activity. The relationship of the INT during the brain's spontaneous activity with their involvement in task states including behavior remains unclear.

We aimed to examine the relationship between contrast induced nephropathy (CIN) development and SII in non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) patients. 1124 NSTEMI patients included and divided into two groups according to the development of CIN.

Therefore, decreasing the length of hospitalization with safer agents is of utmost importance in the treatment of manic episodes. Aripiprazole is a medication known for its efficacy in managing mania associated with bipolar disorder.

Background: The present study aimed to compare different pre-exercise strategies on jumping performance in female volleyball players.
Methods: Fifteen healthy female volleyball players (age=18±0.6 years; training experience = 7.
The Atherogenic Index of Plasma (AIP) is associated with coronary artery disease (CAD) and acute coronary syndrome (ACS), but the relationship between AIP and ACS in elderly patients remains unclear. We investigated the prognostic capability of AIP for in-hospital and long-term mortality in elderly patients with ACS undergoing coronary angiography (CA). We analyzed 627 patients with ACS over 75 years of age who were admitted to our clinic between April 2015 and December 2022 and underwent CA.

This study aims to detect whether or not there is cognitive impairment and cerebral changes in young patients with ACS undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
Patients And Methods: All 50 patients with ACS who were treated with primary PCI were eligible for this prospective study.
Background: Double kissing crush (DKC) and nano-crush (NC) techniques are frequently used, but the comparison for both techniques is still lacking. The goal of this multicenter study was to retrospectively assess the midterm clinical results of DKC and NC stenting in patients with complex bifurcation lesions (CBLs).
Methods: A total of 324 consecutive patients [male: 245 (75.
This study aimed to determine whether there is a difference between the levels of imagery and mental toughness in the context of sports performance in male and female athletes. A total of 344 track and field athletes, 205 male (59.6%, 23.

Background: This study aimed to determine maxillary sinus volume (MSV) in different skeletal malocclusion classes and the correlation between MSV and craniofacial morphology on Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT).
Materials And Methods: The study was performed retrospectively on CBCT images of individuals aged 12-24 years. A total of 129 patients (70 females, 59 males) with a normal vertical growth pattern (27° ≤ SNGoMe ≤ 38°) were divided into three groups according to malocclusion.
Background: The ratio of pulmonary artery diameter (PAD) to ascending aortic diameter (AoD) has been reported to be a prognostic marker in several lung diseases; however, the usefulness of this tool in patients with acute pulmonary embolism (APE) is unknown. Here, we aimed to determine the long-term prognostic value of the PAD/AoD ratio in patients with APE.
Methods: A total of 275 patients diagnosed with APE at our tertiary care center between November 2016 and February 2022 were included in the study.
Objectives: Although the association of Atherogenic index of plasma (AIP) with coronary artery disease (CAD) and atherosclerosis is known, the relationship between AIP and in-stent restenosis (ISR) remains unclear. We aimed to investigate the relationship between AIP and ISR in patients with stable angina pectoris (SAP) treated with drug-eluting stent (DES).
Methods: Patients with a history of DES implantation following stable angina were evaluated between January 2015 and November 2019 in this observational and retrospective study.
Objectives: It is aimed to explain the impact of the combination of aerobic and resistive exercise on activities of daily living and the risk of falls in osteosarcopenic patients.
Methods: Female and male patients over 70 years of age followed up from the osteoporosis outpatient clinic were screened. Appropriate patients were evaluated for sarcopenia gait speed, grip strength and skeletal muscle mass.
Purpose: T mapping is a widely used quantitative MRI technique, but its tissue-specific values remain inconsistent across protocols, sites, and vendors. The ISMRM Reproducible Research and Quantitative MR study groups jointly launched a challenge to assess the reproducibility of a well-established inversion-recovery T mapping technique, using acquisition details from a seminal T mapping paper on a standardized phantom and in human brains.
Methods: The challenge used the acquisition protocol from Barral et al.
The Naples prognostic score (NPS), which reflects the inflammatory and nutritional status of patients, is often used to determine prognosis in cancer patients. The aim of this study was to determine the long-term prognostic value of the NPS in acute pulmonary embolism (APE) patients. Two hundred thirty-nine patients diagnosed with APE were divided into two groups according to their NPS, and long-term mortality was compared.

It is usually characterized by spontaneous recovery without neurological sequelae. This is a benign condition, which has not yet been adequately defined and includes many diseases in the differential diagnosis.

Since synchrony is a key feature of the biological world and its various species, what role does it play for humans? We conducted a large-scale psychological study (n = 1072) combining newly developed visual analogue scales (VAS) for the perception of synchrony and internal and external cognition complemented by several psychological questionnaires. Overall, our findings showed close connection of the perception of synchrony of the self with both internal (i.

Background/introduction: Heart failure patients with reduced ejection fraction are at high risk for ventricular arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death. Ivabradine, a specific inhibitor of the If current in the sinoatrial node, provides heart rate reduction in sinus rhythm and angina control in chronic coronary syndromes.
Objective: The effect of ivabradine on ventricular arrhythmias in heart failure patients with reduced ejection fraction patients has not been fully elucidated.

Objective: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is considered to deteriorate endothelial function through hyperinflammation. We aimed to investigate microvascular dysfunction using the angiographic parameters thrombolysis in myocardial infarction frame count (TFC) and myocardial blush grade (MBG), in COVID-19 patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS).
Methods: One hundred and sixty-five patients presented with ACS (62.
Background: Pacing-induced cardiomyopathy (PICM) occurs as a result of high-burden right ventricular (RV) pacing, which usually develops in patients with complete atrioventricular (AV) block. There is a paucity of data on the association between PICM and pre-implantation left ventricular mass index (LVMI). Thus, the purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of LVMI on PICM in patients who had dual chamber permanent pacemakers (PPMs) implanted secondary to complete AV block.

Objectives: Arrhythmias are the common, potentially lethal, and treatable complication of acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Arrhythmic findings of ischemic cardiac events are well-known, but long-term results have not been scrutinized. In the study, we aimed to analyze the long-term findings of the atrioventricular block (AVB) in ACS patients.
