Rehabilitation devices, such as traditional rigid exoskeletons or exosuits, have been widely used to rehabilitate upper limb function post-stroke. In this paper, we have developed an exosuit with four degrees of freedom to enable users to involve more joints in the rehabilitation process. Additionally, a hybrid electroencephalogram-based (EEG-based) control approach has been developed to promote active user engagement and provide more control commands.

Objectives: Inspired by cloning and moving behaviors observed from salps, we proposed an SPA based on a Kresling-like pattern with a rigid skeleton. The elongation and output force were tested, and the effectiveness of the applications with the SPA was evaluated.

Functional electrical stimulation (FES) can be used to stimulate the lower-limb muscles to provide walking assistance to stroke patients. However, the existing surface electromyography (sEMG)-based FES control methods mostly only consider a single muscle with a fixed stimulation intensity and frequency. This study proposes a multi-channel FES gait rehabilitation assistance system based on adaptive myoelectric modulation.
