Prolonged inflammation induced by orthopedic metallic implants can critically affect the success rates, which can even lead to aseptic loosening and consequent implant failure. In the case of adverse clinical conditions involving osteoporosis, orthopedic trauma and implant corrosion-wear in peri-implant region, the reactive oxygen species (ROS) activity is enhanced which leads to increased oxidative stress. Metallic implant materials (such as titanium and its alloys) can induce increased amount of ROS, thereby critically influencing the healing process.

Migraine (Mg) is a multifaceted neurovascular disorder caused by genetic and several environmental etiologies. We have implemented a case-control study of gene polymorphism in 212 Mg patients and 218 healthy controls utilizing the ARMS-PCR technique, followed by Sanger sequencing. Besides, we have conducted a meta-analysis of different genetic models (five genetic models) to combine and summarize the available data from 11 studies (including this present research).

Beta-pyrrole-substituted porphyrin dyads connected by ethynyl linkage to N-butylcarbazole or triphenylamine donors are reported. Donor-π-acceptor type beta-substituted porphyrin dyads and their Zn(II) and Pd(II) complexes were characterized by MALDI-MS, NMR, UV-vis absorption, fluorescence and cyclic voltammetry techniques. The S emission dynamics were analyzed by time-resolved spectroscopy (TCSPC); dyads exhibited efficient energy transfer up to 93% from beta-donors (N-butylcarbazole or triphenylamine group) to the porphyrin core.

Proper cell division relies on the coordinated regulation between a structural component, the mitotic spindle, and a regulatory component, anaphase-promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C). Hematopoietic PBX-interacting protein (HPIP) is a microtubule-associated protein that plays a pivotal role in cell proliferation, cell migration, and tumor metastasis. Here, using HEK293T and HeLa cells, along with immunoprecipitation and immunoblotting, live-cell imaging, and protein-stability assays, we report that HPIP expression oscillates throughout the cell cycle and that its depletion delays cell division.
