The controlled environment ecosystem is a meticulously designed plant growing chamber utilized for cultivating biofortified crops and microgreens, addressing hidden hunger and malnutrition prevalent in the growing population. The integration of speed breeding within such controlled environments effectively eradicates morphological disruptions encountered in traditional breeding methods such as inbreeding depression, male sterility, self-incompatibility, embryo abortion, and other unsuccessful attempts. In contrast to the unpredictable climate conditions that often prolong breeding cycles to 10-15 years in traditional breeding and 4-5 years in transgenic breeding within open ecosystems, speed breeding techniques expedite the achievement of breeding objectives and F1-F6 generations within 2-3 years under controlled growing conditions.

An efficient method for the acid-catalyzed carbosulfenylation of 1,6-diene has been achieved employing -(aryl/alkylthio)succinimides as a thiolating reagent. The reaction involves the generation of an episulfonium ion followed by intramolecular trapping with alkenes, which offers access to diverse thiolated dehydropiperidines in good yield. In addition, the synthesis of dihydropyran and cyclohexene derivatives, as well as the conversion of the arylthiol moiety to useful functional groups, were also demonstrated.

As considerable variation in its levels is seen during pathological conditions such as sepsis, real-time quantification methods have relevance in diagnosis as well. Of various approaches, reaction-based probes which respond through 'off-on' fluorescence emission remain the most studied.

Based on literature analysis of compounds possessing 'vicinal diaryl' fragment in their structure, we considered Discoipyrroles A-D and Combretastatin A-4 (CA-4) as possible components in hybrid design. Discoipyrrole C (Dis C) and CA-4 were used as reference compounds in these studies and their hybrids, in the form of 4,5-diaryl-1H-pyrrol-3(2H)-ones, were synthesized from suitable amino acid precursors though their ynone intermediates.

The developed reaction offers access to diverse substituted aryl/alkylthio tethered 3,1-benzoxazines in excellent yields and enantiomeric ratios. Furthermore, synthetic applications of benzoxazines and aryl/alkylthio moieties and a transition state model for the observed enantioselectivity are also discussed.

Materials And Methods: Ethanolic root extract of was fractionated using the liquid-liquid partition method. The cytotoxic effect of TAC and protective effect of EAF co-treatment were studied in MDCK cell lines by measuring ROS, LPO, and NO levels; collagen accumulation, effect on mitochondrial membrane integrity and cell cycle analysis were studied.
Background: Tuberculosis (TB) remains an important public health problem since it is the major cause of elevated morbidity and mortality globally. Previous works have shown that Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb); the prime causative agent of the deadly disease has dormancy survival regulator (DosR) regulon, a two-component regulatory system which controls the transcription of more than 50 genes. However, the structure and detailed functions of these DosR regulated genes are largely undetermined.

Triclosan (TCS) used commonly in pharmaceuticals and personal care products has become the most common pollutant in water. Three-day-old hatchlings of an indigenous fish, Labeo rohita, were given 96h exposure to a nonlethal (60 μg L) and two moderately lethal concentrations (67 and 97 μg L) of TCS and kept for 10 days of recovery for recording transcriptomic alterations in antioxidant/detoxification (SOD, GST, CAT, GPx, GR, CYP1a and CYP3a), metabolic (LDH, ALT and AST) and neurological (AchE) genes and DNA damage. The data were subjected to principal component analysis (PCA) for obtaining biomarkers for the toxicity of TCS.
