Congenital myasthenic syndromes (CMS) are rare genetic disorders characterized by impaired neuromuscular transmission. They are caused by mutations in synaptic, presynaptic and post synaptic proteins. Rapsyn is a postsynaptic peripheral membrane protein that anchors the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor to the motor endplate.
