Background: Hyperuricemia, as a very prevalent chronic metabolic disease with increasing prevalence year by year, poses a significant burden on individual patients as well as on the global health care and disease burden, and there is growing evidence that it is associated with other underlying diseases such as hypertension and cardiovascular disease. The association between hyperuricemia and dietary inflammatory index (DII) scores was investigated in this study.
Methods: This study enrolled 13, 040 adult subjects (aged ≥ 20 years) from the US National Health and Nutrition Survey from 2003 to 2018.
Breast cancer is one of the most frequently diagnosed cancer in women and is the major cause of most cancer-related deaths. We previously reported that Brachyury, as a sensitive and specific marker, has been verified to involve in the process of carcinogenesis and progression of breast cancer, but the mechanism by which Brachyury promotes breast cancer cells proliferation and migration still remains less clear. In this study, we identified that Brachyury was markedly increased in breast cancer compared with the adjacent tissues.

Methods: GSE21727 was downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database to identify the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) by the limma/R package. MC3T3-E1 cells were exposed to DEX at different concentrations (0, 10, 10, 10, 10 and 10 mol/L), and cell viability, flow cytometry and TUNEL assay were used to detect cell proliferation and apoptosis.
Purpose: To obtain a better understanding of the structures around L5 vertebra and provide some anatomical evidence of the feasibility of total en-bloc spondylectomy (TES) on L5 in a posterior-only approach.
Methods: 12 simulated TESs on L5 by a posterior-only approach were conducted on human cadavers. The distance between the traction point of L4 nerve root and the dural sac (Da), the anterior-posterior diameter of the vertebral body,(Va), the distance between the start point of L4 nerve root and the traction point of L5 nerve root (Dh) and the height of the vertebral body (Vh) were measured.
Triptolide has been widely reported to exhibit potential therapeutic value in multiple inflammatory diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and psoriasis. Although its safety and efficacy as an anti-inflammatory agent have been verified by many studies, the effect of triptolide on osteoarthritis (OA) was not clearly understood. In this study, we found that triptolide prevented OA development in a surgical destabilization of the medial meniscus (DMM) mouse model.

This study addresses the chondrogenic differentiation of myoblasts seeded into poly-lactide-co-glycolide (PLGA) scaffolds following implantation in a subcutaneous pocket of nude mice. Canine myoblasts isolated from a Beagle were expanded and seeded into PLGA scaffolds and cultured in cartilage-derived morphogenetic protein-2 (CDMP-2) and transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1)-containing medium for 2 weeks in vitro.
