Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) accounts for approximately 30-40% of all non-Hodgkin lymphoma cases. Organs located DLBCL such as lymph node, stomach, gastrointestinal tract, or skin were reported. However, the adrenal gland DLBCL was not been well explored.

Urinary tumors pose a significant health threat because of their high prevalence and recurrence rates. Despite the availability of various treatment options, many patients poorly respond to traditional therapies, highlighting the urgent need for alternative approaches. Oncolytic viruses are promising therapeutic agents.

Article Synopsis
  • Identifying new imaging biomarkers for lifelong premature ejaculation (LPE) could help us understand the brain processes behind this condition.
  • In a study involving 46 LPE patients and 35 healthy controls, researchers used a technique called Percent Amplitude of Fluctuation (PerAF) to compare brain function during rest, finding notable differences between the two groups.
  • Results showed increased PerAF in areas linked to emotional and sensory processing in LPE patients, along with correlations between PerAF changes and neurotransmitter systems, suggesting that ejaculatory control issues may stem from neurotransmitter dysregulation.

Background: The primary limitation to kidney transplantation is organ shortage. Recent progress in gene editing and immunosuppressive regimens has made xenotransplantation with porcine organs a possibility. However, evidence in pig-to-human xenotransplantation remains scarce, and antibody-mediated rejection (AMR) is a major obstacle to clinical applications of xenotransplantation.

Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) immunotherapy has been a cornerstone treatment for non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer for decades and still faces challenges, such as severe immune adverse reactions, which reduce its use as a first-line treatment. This review examines BCG therapy's history, mechanisms, and current status, highlighting how nanotechnology and bioengineering are revitalizing its application. We discuss novel nanocarrier systems aimed at enhancing BCG's efficacy while mitigating specific side effects.

Bladder cancer (BC) is the tenth most common malignancy globally. Urothelial carcinoma (UC) is a major type of BC, and advanced UC (aUC) is associated with poor clinical outcomes and limited survival rates. Current options for aUC treatment mainly include chemotherapy and immunotherapy.

Background: Significant progress has been made in kidney xenotransplantation in the past few years, and this field is accelerating towards clinical translation. Therefore, surveillance of the xenograft with appropriate tools is of great importance. Ultrasonography has been widely used in kidney allotransplantation and served as an economical and non-invasive method to monitor the allograft.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop predictive models for postoperative estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) based on the split glomerular filtration rate measured by radionuclide (rGFR), as choosing radical nephrectomy (RN) or partial nephrectomy (PN) for complex renal masses requires accurate prediction of postoperative eGFR.

Methods: Patients who underwent RN or PN for a single renal mass at Xijing Hospital between 2008 and 2022 were retrospectively included. Preoperative split rGFR was evaluated using technetium-99 m-diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (Tc-99 m DTPA) renal dynamic imaging, and the postoperative short-term (< 7 days) and long-term (3 months to 5 years) eGFRs were assessed.

Background: The 2 main types of calcineurin inhibitors (CNI) are tacrolimus (TAC) and cyclosporine A (CsA); both are needed by patients who receive kidney transplants. A common adverse reaction of TAC is depression, which is listed in its instructions. However, depression occurred rarely, according to the instructions manual for CsA.

Article Synopsis
  • - The prevalence of allergic rhinitis (AR) in China has significantly increased, prompting a systematic review of risk factors, which was performed by analyzing 51 studies up until November 2021.
  • - Key risk factors identified for adults include smoking, asthma, family histories of AR or asthma, and occupational dust exposure, while children are notably affected by passive smoking, asthma, and family history of allergies.
  • - The meta-analysis found that the prevalence of AR was 19% in adults and 22% in children, with boys displaying a higher prevalence than girls, indicating a pressing need for effective evaluation and strategies to address AR in China.

Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is the predominant type of malignant tumor in kidney cancer. Finding effective biomarkers, particularly those based on the tumor immune microenvironments (TIME), is critical for the prognosis and diagnosis of RCC. Increasing evidence has revealed that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play a crucial role in cancer immunity.
