Antidepressant use in the treatment of bipolar disorder is controversial due the risks of affective switching and cycle acceleration. Studies of non-comorbid samples suggest that the risk can be mitigated with the use of a concomitant mood stabilizer. However, the majority of patients with bipolar disorder will experience a comorbid substance use disorder and little is known about these individuals because they are typically excluded from clinical trials.

Successfully predicting the type of information that will be most relevant to an individual may lead to greater engagement with the program and better outcomes. The current study tests the association of information obtained during an automated evaluation for alcohol use problems with subsequent preference for educational modules.

The combination of infrared, Raman, and inelastic neutron-scattering (INS) spectroscopies has enabled observation of all the modes of the [ReH9]2- ion for the first time. We demonstrate that calculations of the isolated [ReH9]2- ion are unable to reproduce the INS spectrum and that the complete unit cell must be considered with periodic DFT to have reliable results.
