The experience of 100 cases of 8K/two-dimensional laparoscopic colorectal surgery - The evaluation of 8K/two-dimensional laparoscopy and how to use it.

Background: The resolution of 8K ultra-high-definition imaging technology (7680 × 4320 pixels) is 16-fold higher than the current high-definition technology (1920 × 1080 pixels). 8K/two-dimensional (2D) laparoscopy was clinically available in 2014, but few reports concerning its application have been published. The aim of this study was to evaluate the appropriate methods of usage and problems learned from clinical use of 8K/2D laparoscopy.

The evaluation of the correlation between origami crane training and Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery (FLS).

Objective: How does making origami cranes under a dry box affect Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery (FLS) scores in medical students?

Design: Four medical students from Asahikawa Medical University (tertiary hospital) participated. They made origami cranes under a dry box (origami crane training) five days per week for four weeks. The time required to make each origami crane (origami crane time) and degree of completion were evaluated.

Portal Annular Pancreas With Common Hepatic Artery Trajectory Abnormality: A Case Report and Review of the Literature.

Portal annular pancreas (PAP) is a rare congenital pancreatic anomaly, in which the uncinate process of the pancreas fuses to the body of pancreas behind the portal vein. Here, we report a case of PAP with common hepatic arterial anomaly, which was identified during surgery. A 57-year-old man who had branch type intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm in the head of the pancreas developed a nodule in the cystic lesion.

[A case of long-term survival of unresectable-advanced gastric cancer due to chemotherapy].

The case was a 50s male with chief complaints of body weight loss and nausea. A clinical finding was Stage IV gastric cancer of poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma. We diagnosed it unresectable and started 5-FU+CDDP as the first-line chemotherapy.

[Expandable metallic stent treatment for obstructive colorectal cancer patients].

Unlabelled: The expandable metallic stent (EMS) have been used to treat obstructive colorectal cancer. We used EMS in 13 out of 14 cases of obstructive colorectal carcinoma patients (insertion rate 93%). Of these 13 cases, 6 cases were male patients, and 7 cases were female patients.

[A case of local recurrence of rectal cancer in long-term responding to combined therapy of low-dose CPT-11 and 5'-DFUR].

A 68-year-old man underwent Miles'operation for advanced rectal cancer. Local recurrence occurred 9 months following the operation. We started the combined therapy of low-dose CPT-11 and doxifluridine (5'-DFUR).
