The naturally occurring mutation E484D in the spike (S) protein of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) can render viral entry ACE2 independent and imdevimab resistant. Here, we investigated whether the cellular proteins ASGR1, DC-SIGN, and TMEM106B, which interact with the viral S protein, can contribute to these processes. Employing S protein-pseudotyped particles, we found that expression of ASGR1 or DC-SIGN jointly with TMEM106B allowed for robust entry of mutant E484D into otherwise non-susceptible cells, while this effect was not observed upon separate expression of the single proteins and upon infection with SARS-CoV-2 wild type (WT).

Sensory cortex represents these temporal cues through two codes: the temporal sequences of neuronal activity and the spatial patterns of neuronal firing rate. However, it is unknown which of these coexisting codes causally drives sensory decisions.

In species where object play co-occurs with locomotor or social play, it may have additional functional implications, such as facilitating the evaluation of peers or forming social bonds. For instance, ravens judge others' competitiveness via play caching and engage in social play by exchanging objects.

Here, employing pseudotyped particles, we compared the host cell entry efficiency, ACE2 receptor usage, and sensitivity to antibody-mediated neutralization of four emerging SARS-CoV-2 lineages, KP.2, KP.

Yet, little is known about the individual differences that shape the relationship between interpersonal synchronization to music and social bonding. The present research tests the hypothesis that this association is influenced by differences in empathy and creativity-two highly relevant factors in many musical activities.

Unfortunately, the structural and biophysical mechanisms of several key MLGIs remain poorly understood, limiting our ability to design spatially matched glycoconjugates as potential therapeutics against specific MLGIs. We have recently demonstrated that natural oligomannose-coated nanoparticles are powerful probes for MLGIs.

Design: HAWK and HARRIER were 96-week, prospective, randomized, double-masked, controlled, multicenter studies.
Participants: A total of 1775 patients across 11 countries were included in the HAWK study, and 1048 patients across 29 countries were included in the HARRIER study.

While it was recently shown that cells of the blood-brain-barrier are permissive to SARS-CoV-2 infection in vitro, it remains debated whether neurons can be infected. In this study, we demonstrate that vesicular stomatitis virus particles pseudotyped with the spike protein of SARS-CoV-2 variants WT, Alpha, Delta and Omicron enter the neuronal model cell line SH-SY5Y.

This property allows the path integral to also describe physical regimes that do not admit position bases. These physical regimes are pregeometric in the sense that they do not admit a mathematical representation of the physical degrees of freedom in terms of fields that live on a spacetime.

Medical students report low confidence in their ability to perform pelvic exams. Pelvic exams under anesthesia (EUA) are one way for students to practice the exam, but this needs to be balanced with patients' bodily autonomy through explicit disclosure and consent. This study seeks to characterize U.

While transgender individuals are diagnosed with cancer at similar rates as those who are cisgender, the impacts of radiation therapy on outcomes of gender-affirming care in transgender, nonbinary, and gender-expansive people with cancer are understudied.
